| I am hoping someone can clear this up for me... I have been thinking that unlimited veggies are allowed on induction. the I was reading that there are, say 0-5 carbs, in any given one. How can we eat unlimited veggies if there are so many carbs in them and we are only allowed 20 total per day??? Perhaps I am not understanding this or have been intrepreting it incorrectly but I feel so limited with what I can eat! Please help...I'm hearing that Krispy Kreme alling me and I don't want to give in! "Press On" 213/209/150 |

| As a general rule, if grows under the ground don’t eat them, if it grows above the ground its ok. With the exception of peas. The USDA has a web site that tell everything about food stuffs BigLez Soon to be Littlelez If you have never made a mistake then you've done nothing |

| Hi, Clemmy_2. The rule of thumb for induction is 3 cups of salad per day or 2 cups of salad an 1 cup of a low carb vegetable per day. Many of us take the position that since they are so high in fiber, veggies which are RAW DARK GREEN and LEAFY, are pretty much a free food. They are full of nutrients and give you very little in net carbs. | Clemmy, You are reading the **total** carbs, not the net carbs. Most of these veggies are high in fiber and after you subtract the fiber, there is very little *carb* left. You should only count net carbs as fiber does not stay in the body. And I agree with the above: dark, leafy greens and MOST green vegetables shouldn't be counted at all. I have *never* known anyone who got fat eating vegetables! You could sit on the couch and eat them all day and I (personally) don't think you'd gain a pound! ![]() Anyway, that's my take on it, Summer www.herstorygirl.com |

| Go for veggies, and eat them raw or as crunchy as possible. Better nutrients and fiber. Rob, I actually prefer veggies now to chips. I love cucumber slices, wash, leave peel on, slice. I use them for chips and crackers! Take care~ Susan LCE Member since 01/02 |
