I started my journal in the forum last night and decided to poke around here too...I've been low carbing seriously since September 2003, but have been pretty relaxed with it over the holidays...had a decent last week but planning on leaping back into strict Induction tomorrow to make some serious progress. Any suggestions for those of us wayward ones who are straggling back home??

BTW I can't help but notice all the recommendations for water...not to toot my own horn (well, ok, I am) that's the one element of this I have no problem with. I LOVE water and drink tons all day, so it's made me feel good even though my eating has been less than ideal.

I know exacly how you feel about the less than ideal eating habits lately. I had a total blowout while some friends were in town this past friday, but I'm jumping back on the wagon too.
Be proud of yourself for having enough self control to chase the wagon down and climb back on! Some people don't even chase it once they've fallen off. And since you have... you've take the first step. And just like Confucious said "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

Thanks for the encouragement! I spent some time last night rereading the rules of Induction, making grocery lists, etc. and I'm ready for a new, good-eating week! It's funny...LC and exercise is the ONLY way I've ever successfully lost weight, and I wonder why I seem to forget this in the face of cookies and chocolate! I certainly never lost weight eating treats! Something counter-intuitive about human nature, I guess...we KNOW what to do but forget it for time to time.

Good luck getting back on track...Mondays are great for that!

Congratulations on being back on the wagon! Plug away at it and keep coming by for support!

Good job with the water! I think water drinking and this site is what will make me successful this time. I focus on drinking thewater and don't have time to think about eating!

Good luck all!!

Water is the best...the only problem is the frequent trips to the little girls' room! I'm a student and plan my day on campus around water...stagger it in the morning until I can get home and drink as much as I want. It's a running joke among my friends and family! But I just think of all those toxins getting flushed right out, like a clean river!
