I personally would stay away from any kind of candies right now. I'm going to tell you before anyone else does (na na na na na naaaa) eat your VEGGIES and drink your WATER.

I think common aches and pains is generally normal. I personally had a horrible headache, and tired, but then after the third day, BOOM lots of energy, and headache gone.

Hang in there, if I can do it, anyone can, lol

Good Luck!

I'm a gym fanatic and I always had decents amounts of energy, but even in MY first few days of induction... I was tired and a bit scatter brained. Think about it... sugar and carbs were like a drug to your body for so long, and once you took that drug away, the initial effect is going to be withdrawl. Just make it through the first week and you should be feeling great by then! Good luck on your journey... and you've made a great choice to join the LC WOL!

My wife and I are on day eight. At day two and three, we both experienced the same symptoms you are asking about. Had to take a nap in the afternoon and the morning of day three was terrible especailly for my wife. We both were a quezy and shaky. Wasn't very pleasant. Day 4 was remarkable as was day, 5,6,7, and 8 is looking pretty good so far.

As for the carb count and sugar free, you need to recognize that sugar is not the only form of carbs. Dr. Atkins book specifally stated that packages that say sugar free mean nothing. They must list out total carbs. If you have the sweet tooth, think about the sugar free Jello (maybe a splash of whipped cream on top) and even the breyers carb smart ice cream (small amounts of course).

Day three was a real hurdle and I was scared we wouldn't make it. A few days later, I have gone from 209 to 199.5. A good chunk of water weight I'm sure but now its a half a pound a day lighter. The wife is a bit slower but we both are really into this now. Stick with it, it is the most remarkable thing you can do for yourself.

Good luck and hang in there.

Most of those carbs are probably from sugar alcohols. And If you read through old posts here you know the controversy over impact carbs.
But You will begin to feel better than ever in a few days. Induction does produce some bad effects but they are temporary. Hang in there.
By the way no bars or low carb substitutes on induction.
