Yesterday was my seven day on teh Atkins, and no change at all, and please don't say I did'nt eat my veggie and drink weter, if nothinhg else that I did.

No: I did not measure myself, but weight.
Yes: I counted my carb. average about 18-20 per day.

A typical LC day is: 2 scamble egg,2 links turkey sausage & 1/4 cup cheddar (BF); 2 cup Lettuce/cabbage, 1/4 cup bean sprouts, 2 slice avocado or 1 chickenbreast grilled (Lunch); 1 cup brocoli, 1 cup snap green bean and 1 chickenbreat (Dinner); and 1 gallon of water.

What did I do wrong?

Hello,

I know this is frustrating, but I have just a couple of questions.

How much do you have to loose?
Are you eating any LC bars?
Are you on any medications for ANYTHING?
What plan are you following and do you own the book that supports this plan?

I had 1 LC bar during the day last week, but you all advise against it. I am trying to loose about 20-30 Lbs.
No medication.

Rap,

Sounds like your veggies are okay. You might not be getting enough fat and protein, though.

Rap,

it looks like you did okay! So sorry you didn't lose... I know it can be really frustrating

some ideas -- sorry if none are really groundbreaking!

- if you are within a healthy weight range for your height and age you will find that losing is very slow
- if you are short, female, or over 40 it can be even worse!
- sometimes you will not see any weightloss for days and then overnight you'll get a 3-4lb "whoosh".
- do you have a good, reliable scale? Did you weigh yourself at roughly the same time both times? (ie. if day 1 yer naked and it's 7am before breakfast, and day 7 you're in a snowsuit and just ate a big meal...). OK, maybe this is reaching a bit!
- are you hungry? If so, maybe you're not eating enough. Although this menu sounds great, perhaps you need to eat a bit more to not be in "starvation" mode.
- are you taking your vitamins? OR -- are you on a prescription drug that might hamper weight loss efforts?
- how do YOU FEEL? Do you have more/less energy than before? Are you sleeping well? Muscle pain? Headaches?

Stick with it, we're all here to help!!
I'm sure the moderators can give you better advice than I have...

GOOD LUCK AND STICK WITH IT!

I agree that with 20 to 30 to loose it will be slower for you than some one like me that started out with 140lbs to loose. Yes.. just one bar can mess up a few days worth of weight loss because it can knock you right out of ketosis. Be carefull on the cheese.. for me it makes me stall if I eat any more than 1 ounce a day. My advise to you is take a deep breath and relax and enjoy this WOE. Do take your measurements..and don't eat any more bars. And remember this is not a race! It took time to put the weight on and it will take time for it to come off.

Sounds to me like you're eating just fine. Maybe you just need to be patient. I know it's hard...I've been on Atkins since December 9 and have only lost 5 pounds so far. But I think you just need to keep eating the way you have been. If you get tired of chicken, maybe you can have seafood or something. I know you don't eat pork. Have you tried lamb?

Eating different foods may not help you lose weight any faster, but it will help you stay on the plan and not get too bored.

You really don't have very much weight to lose, so it will probably take you longer than some. Keep trying!

Since I started Atkins I've felt better -no flux, no feeling over-stuff. So what I am going to tell myself is to just be happy that you're eating right..for life, and don't worry about weight so much.

It's a amazing I was really down on myself, but this morning I feel strong again, just by reading you all comments.

Thanks very much..

you food does look great. How about exercise? it really is a non-negotiable part of any weight loss program. Get in some walking, and when you're ready, add some weight lifting 2-3 days a week - just some basic free weights for arms, some squats and lunges, crunches. When you increase muscle mass, you increase your resting metabolism.

Cheese does stall some people, I think (don't remember exactly though) the usual recomendation is to limit it to about 3-4 oz per day. Good luck.

Rap, it sounds like you're doing things right. I think you should just stay the course and wait for good thigns to happen. They don't always happen when we want them to. And then... WHOOSH...
