I keep seeing 'keep low carb snacks' on hand. Just what passes as low carb snacks (that doesn't require cooking, recipes, etc). I am 'cooking' more than I used to, but looking for simple, easy things to have on hand - besides the adkins bars that people are saying aren't a good choice.
I am not craving sweets at all, but sometimes just need something a little different. I am really, really trying with the LC veggies (just never been a veggie person).

Hard boil a dozen eggs at a time. Bake a family sized package of chicken legs. Roll cheese in lunch meat. Celery with a little cream cheese spread on or ranch dressing to dip.

After induction you can have nuts too. Penuts and macadamias are my favorites.

My favorites are string cheese and a small apple(13g after subtracting the fiber).

I keep Brazil nuts in the freezer and grab a handful once in a while, I eat them frozen, it gives them a wonderful crunch.

A can of Vienna sausage eaten with some pork rinds and mustard.

BBQ pork rinds and a caffeine free diet coke.

Sugar free Jello with whipped cream.

My kids make up a box of orange sugar free Jello and dump about 1/2 a bag of frozen blueberries in it and let it jell. Then whip up a cup of whipping cream and stir it into the jelled Jello.

Sometimes I'll melt half of a sugar free chocolate bar in the microwave and mix a handful of peanuts in it. Then just sit down and eat it with a spoon.

Make some homemade sugar free ice cream.

I'll make a big cup of decaf coffee and put some cream and some sugar free flavored syrup in it.

Soften some cream cheese in the microwave and mix a little bit of Splenda and some chopped pecans in it and spread it inside some celery.

Mix some grated cheddar cheese with a little mayo and chopped pecans and spread it in some celery.

I get some strawberry Blue Bunny sugar free yogurt at Walmart and mix some chopped pecans in it.

I love snacks, sometimes I prefer to just snack in the evening rather than eat a meal.

Just fyi: Mary Kay, apples aren't allowed till later on in OWL

also good snacks are...
olives
make yourself a small veggie tray w/full fat dip
pepperoni slices w/cheese

and my favorite LC snack of all:
portobello mushroom 'pizzas'

remove stem from lg portobello cap
pat clean w/damp paper towel (face it, those things just don't come very clean!)
nuke for approximately 2 minutes, then press w/paper towel to remove some moisture
top with pepperoni, cheese, and other favorite pizza toppings (it really doesn't need sauce, but I'm sure you could add some LC sauce)
broil or place in toaster oven for a few minutes and.. MMMMMMMM

Snacks, very quick-n-easy, I've used:

1 can of Vienna sausages
a few tiny blocks of sharp cheddar cheese sandwiched between pepperoni slices
celery sticks filled with cream cheese
thinly sliced, pre-packaged turkey or ham or chicken (2.5-ounce pack)
any veggies dipped in Ranch dressing
pork rinds dipped in sour cream

Hope this helps...

Try mixing some blue cheese with cream cheese and putting on celery. It's wonderful! I've been having this for breakfast!

You guys are making me hungry. Mmmm. I mix chopped bacon, mayo, and cherry tomatoes. I wrap it in romaine lettuce leaves and eat. My husband loves this. Chicken wings are another favorite - all though I love the idea of chicken cubes dipped in blue cheese and hot sauce. What a time saver!!!

I just thought of another fav - lunchmeat with cream cheese spread on it and a slice of dill pickle or a green onion. Roll up and eat. I keep them in the refrigerator for emergencies. My dd loves these and she is only 4!

I zap some cheese in the microwave until it is golden brown, sprinkle with a bit of Chipotle pepper and cut into squares. It's the next best thing (for me ) to chips!

My mom is a big believer in sunflower seeds. She eats those at work a lot...hehe.
I eat pumpkin seeds and Slim Jims/beef jerky more often

If I want a sweet snack I pour myself a glass of Diet Rite Orange from a can (fizzier!). Then I add some heavy whipping crean. Simple and tastes like an Orange Creamsicle! Rootbeer is great, too.

I like to make tuna or salmon salad with mayo and dill relish. I use celery to scoop it out. Gives it a special crunch.

My DH likes peppercini's and a dill pickle.

Little smokies with some mustard is really good.

I also make sf jello and put it in 4ounce cups in the frig so if I have an emergency sweet tooth it is right there.
