Yesterday I came across a snack food called Just the Cheese. They were pizza-flavored rounds made of cheddar cheese. The bag contained 2 net carbs. They were really very good. Does anyone else eat these and are they okay on Induction?

I haven't heard of them, but they sound good! If they are just cheese they should be OK for induction, although 2 carbs for just cheese is on the high side for an induction snack. Make sure there's no sugar on the ingredients list. Also remember that 4oz per day is the allowable cheese serving the first two weeks. Apart from that, I'd say go for it!

Just the Cheese are sort of like thick crackers mostly composed of cheese. I think it's a good snack because it takes a lot of energy just to chew them, and with 10g protein per serving, they are very filling. I'm not sure about having them during Induction. I wouldn't make them a regular thing, but sparingly might be okay.

I love this snack, especially the nacho cheese flavor. This is what I take to the movies to munch on. The downfall....a one serving bag - that is light as a feather - sells for $3.49.
Too expensive to have too often!

I have also used them as croutons on my salad. I lucked out on a buy one, get free sale! Made my salad yummy!!

Tam
I've had these before, they're pretty much just *cheese* and a decent snack once in awhile. Croutons..hmm. Good idea, too! They basically look like tiny rice cakes, but made from cheese. They are VERY expensive, so you probably won't abuse them. Bright's fried cheese would probably be much more economical and WAAAAAAAAAAAY more tasty. I've never made a recipe of hers I didn't love.

I tried some flavor of them and really found them to be VERY salty tasting. BUT, I can't believe you are paying that much for them! I bought my bag for 99 cents. Where o where are you shopping??? I could think about trying another flavor, but they gave me such heart burn, I'm afraid to...

Awww, thanks Tara.

That's not my recipe, it comes from the Truly Low Carb cookbook.

Look at this for the nutritional info:

Just the Cheese
Sugar is third in the ingredients list. About $3 for a 2-ounce bag, too.

Better to make your own, eh?

I have tried the white cheddar flavor. They're a tad salty for my tastes. I think I bought mine through the Greenbeanz (or whatever they're called now) website. I like the idea of using them for croutons but wholeheartedly agree that frying your own cheese is just as good, if not better, and certainly more affordable.

I've had them before and they ARE salty. There are two servings in a small bag, there's 1200mg. sodium in that tiny bag.

I will admit, they are tastey.

Take care~
