Hello all

Well, on Day 3 of my re-induction and everything appears to be going well. Just a quick question about my morning coffee, however. I've been counting the carbs religously in the cream I add(yipee for measuring spoons and carb counters!) but are there any carbs in the coffee itself? I've looked online a few different places and seen mixed numbers. Somewhere, I read there's about 1 carb per mug (8 oz) and since I drink two mugs each morning, that's 2 carbs I could have towards something fun, like extra veggies on my salad! As we all know, 2 carbs is a big deal when one is attempting to stay under 20...thoughts?

1 carb per 8 oz. cup of coffee is right. Sure, you could be using the carbs for some more greens, and if you can omit it from your day and be fine, then why not? If coffee is something that you need to get through your day, though, then only having an 17 or 18g of carbs for your daily allottment is not so bad. You can still fit in a good amount of food on that budget. It's all about personal preference. Some people find that it slows up their weight loss, others find that it doesn't affect them at all. Maybe you could skip the coffee for Induction and then when you move into OWL, you can add it back in. It's just a matter of what you want to do. HTH

Thanks for the info! HAHA I love both coffee and veggies, but coffee always has, and always will, win out. I can forgo most of life's pleasure if necessary EXCEPT coffee...and luckily it doesn't effect my weight losss. I would feel bad for the people in my life, and the world at large, if coffee wasn't a part of my day. Scary thought.

Anyway, thanks a bunch!
