Hey Gilly,

I'm no pro at this but I think that the "mac n' cheese is the problem. I think you should post your menus and I'm sure someone can tell you where you are going wrong. Just don't give up !

well...the mac and cheese first off. Your personal trainer is also right. Take a day off. Even though exersice is great and everyone should do it at least 3-5 times a week, you need to let your body adjust. Also, this is not a quick fix everyone loses at different speeds. How are you doing with your daily water intake?? That could help things out a bit. Are you eating any low carb bars or candy? Cause that could stall you. if you give a typical daily menu, i'm sure enough people will read it and give you some suggestions. DONT GIVE UP!! We are here to help!

Bread of any kind is not allowed on induction. Even after induction it can stall some people.

Ok, I will jump in here. First you need to be eating lots more veggies - with your lunch have a bowl of lettuce with cuke, peppers, any other raw veggies you like with salad dressing (most regular ones are pretty low carb or you can go with olive oil and vinegar). You are not drinking enough water, 1/2 your weight in ounces of water should be what you should be drinking. Are you drinking coffee, diet coke, anything with caffeen....that may also be hindering you. You should also be eating more veggies at dinner - a bowl of salad and another cooked veggie or two. Sometime I feel like I am eating tons of food.... lots of salads and veggies, and some fruit... you can eat all the berries as a desert if you want them for that or as a snack - 3/4 cup strawberries, and rasberries, 1/3 cup blueberries, 1/4 c cantaloupe or honeydew/..... hope that helps.

Gilley - all the working out may be causing a gain - muscle weighs more than fat, but it's leaner. Also, you may retain more water when you're sore (I know I do, which probably is one reason whay I have lost nada since I started my weight training program on 1/5). You may be trying to do too much too quick. Are you weight training? Your PT (that's personal trainer) should be encouraging you to rest and recover after working a muscle group. That's because your build muscle during the recovery period, not during the stress period.

My advice to you is...slow down. This isn't a race. You are more likely to stick with this WOE and an exercise program if you have the mindset that all good things happen in time nad that this is a lifestyle. Seriously, by working out soooo much even your PT is telling you to take a day off, you are risking injury, and that WILL derail you.

Good luck and keep us posted.

What are those peppers stuffed with? If it's a tomato substance, keep in mund that tomatoes are high glycemic vegetables.

You are not eating enough food, in my opinion. Eat AT LEAST 3 cups of vegetables per day. At least. Eat more protein...pure protein...nothing pre-cooked, pre-packaged, pr processed. Limit yourself to 4 ounces of cheese per day, and only the aged kind. Nothing pasturized or processed.

Yesterday I ate:

Lunch
large grilled steak (it was huge...grilled it the night before)
large salad (two cups) of iceberg lettuce, radishes, cucumbers, green peppers, and Ranch dressing

Dinner
2 grilled hamburgers, each wrapped up in large leaves of iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, mayo (not Miracle Whip)
1 cup of my broccoli/hamburger casserole (simply ground beef with broccoli thrown in and a hint of onion)

Snack
1/2 tablespoon of cocoa mixed with sweet-n-low, a little water, 2 tablespoons of cream cheese, and a handful of walnuts all mixed up together

I've been eating stuff like that every day now for nearly 6 years. I eat a lot. This works.

You need to eat more vegetables.

Thank you very much for all of your information.
I have been very physicaly active for a year now as a member at a gym.. just recently became more dedicated to it, my stuffed peppers were stuffed w/ meat and spices.. no tomato.. i added 2 eggs to make them fluffier... they were delicious.. tonight for dinner i had 1 grilled chicken breast 2 cups of broccli caulf. mix steamed, and 1 hand full of cut up celery sticks 2 tbsp sour cream for dipping.

i know i need to start writeing down every thing i eat. and adding more veggies... god iwish it was summer and my garden full of good things to eat!!!!!!!!!

this place is wonderfull w/ all of the suport. i was realy down on my self today.. and the muscle gain probly does have something to do w/ it.. i worked out for 20 min thismorning when i got a cramp in my legg and my phy trainer said that is enough ... i havent done muce more than laundry and dishes and dinner.. i feel better
thanks for the suport...
tommrow will be a brighter day
a new day

Gilley~

You might want to check out fitday.com ~ it's a free program which tracks food intake, weight loss, exercise progress, etc. Many of us find it very helpful - hopefully you will, too.

I can say from personal experiance that I had worked out weights 3X and yoga 3X a week for 6 weeks 9then got lazy again..LOL). I didn't loose more than a couple of pounds during that whole time but lost 4" in my waist alone! I bet your makeing more progress that what your giving yourself credit for.

I agree with the others.. you/ your body NEEDS time to rest inbetween work outs (weight training). It is just as important to let them muscles heal as it is for you to tear them down. Also WT every day actually works against you..and it very well could cause injurys.

I agree on waiting until your out of induction to try any kind of LC bread or pasta. Then add it in slowly to see how your body reacts.

Good job on trying to up your water intake. That is very important.. especially since your working out so much.

Good luck to you and don't give up!
