    Crystal Light Raspberry Ice

    Hello all,

Had a question? My DH and I drink the above mentioned beverage and I tried to plug it into Fitday.com. The container say it has 5 calories per 8 fl oz serv. and 0 everything else. Fitday says that if it has calories then by their computation it also has carbs.

Any clue what the carbs = to? If I go by their formula it should be 0 calories.

    Thanks for any input.

By the way, starting my second week of re-induction with a 6 lb loss! I am so pumped! And really looking forward to OWL in 1 week!

    Take care all!!!

I bought the same stuff from another brand and it says 1/2 carb -- I would count it like that until you find more info

I think the CL is pretty much carb free EXCEPT that it is sweetened with Splenda. Keep in mind that you are supposed to count one packet of Splenda as 1 gram of carbs. I am not sure how many 'packets' or whatever are in CL, but you can be sure it is more than one.

(I am referring to the premade bottled stuff by the way, I would imagine the powder is about the same IF it is made with Splenda and if I recall correctly, I don't think it is)

Personally, I think five calories per 8 ounces is suspiciously high. Assuming that's five calories from carbs (probably), then that's 1.25 carbs per 8 ounces right there, and I never drank just 8 ounces at a time. So I'd feel better off drinking something else with fewer carbs like Diet Hansen's or Diet Coke.

Lilac, is this the powdered version or the liquid version in the bottles? The powdered is sweetened with aspartame and the liquid in bottles is sweetened with splenda, go figure. I would count an 8 oz. serving as 1 carb just to be on the safe side. After you are done with induction, you can be a little lax on that. This can be a sticky whicket sometimes, since a lot of bottles are 12 oz and the numbers on the can or bottles are for an 8 oz serving size. If it's the one that is liquid in the bottles, they actually use liquid splenda which has no fillers and thus no carbs.
