    Hi,
I have been on Atkins for about 2 weeks, but just recently started using Fitday.com , not as often as I should, but trying to get a handle on tracking what I eat.
I am sick of eggs and didn't have much else available this morning so I had an Atkins Breakfast Bar. I know I should stay away from these, I only have 1 about every 2 or 3 days.
I also had 3 slices of bacon, thank goodnes I am not sick of bacon yet.
Anyway, I went to log my breakfast into Fitday and now I am confused.....the bars use a 'net carb' of 2, so that is what I was going to enter, but it wouldn't let me. It said that 'the total carbs must be greater than fiber' which is 6 grams. So I put in the real amount of carbs, which is 14 and now it makes all my numbers look bad because of the total amount of carb grams......any suggestions other than staying away from the bars ? !
    Thanks,
    Rose

I'm sure by now you have read posts about sugar alcohols and whether to count them. So if the net carbs said 14 including sugar alcohols then
fitday needs to include them. If you wanted to get around this you could add the sugar alcohols to the alcohol at a rate of 2 to 1 so if teh S.A.'s were 6 then you would add 3 to alcohol. But many here find that sugar alcohols act much like regular carbs so they count them as such. YMMV but tread carefully.

Me, a skeptic? I trust you have proof.

If you think you absolutely must find a "convenience food" substitute for real food occasionally, use the Low-carb shakes instead of the bars. Have a can in your hand when you fire up Fitday, and put the information from the Nutrition Facts label in your custom foods.

I like Atkins Advantage Chocolate (well, I've had one). No sugar alcohols, quite a lot of fiber, and other vitamin nutrients.
