Janet,
please post a few days' worth of menus so that we may better help you. Include any supplements you are taking, and water intake. Also, how tall are you? How much do you want to lose? Are you on any medications/have any medical conditions?

And stay strong!!!

I may jump in here too. I haven't seen any movement for about a week-1/2 - either weight or measurement. I'm not good about tracking, but I have been making sure I haven't been going off the allowed foods. I keep trying to journal, but get to lunch and then just 'out of mind'.
However, wondering if my meds might be making a difference. I am on Advair (daily), and Nexium (daily), and albuterol when I need it. I also take One-a-day Weight Smart vitamin. I've just started taking a phillips lax/softener - I know I should use the flaxseed - but I have never been very regular, but 4 days is too much with nothing.
suggestions, input?

This is my third (and final) time re-starting too. The first time was fast loss during induction, the second was really slow. This time has been great. The reason, I believe is because:

1. I drink a minimum of 64oz. of water each day. (More like 100 oz.)

2. I stick to natural foods - meaning no LC candy, LC bars, LC convenience foods.

3. I had absolutely no LC bread of any kind until the 3rd week. Then it was just 1 slice.

4. I had no diet sodas, or sf drinks of any kind... only water.

So far, I've lost 11 pounds in the first 2 weeks; 9 the first week, 2 the second. My weigh in day is tomorrow. I expect another 1 - 2 pounds. And I can tell the inches are melting off too. I'm going to measure tomorrow too.

I think what I listed above were the keys for me. Especially the water. IMHO once you've done induction and LC once, your body has done a major carb detox, so the second/third/fourth time around you won't see fast loss unless you stay natural and drink your water. Again, I have no scientific proof of this, but that's what I've experienced over the past couple of years.

Good luck and don't give up!

I am 4'11" and weigh 123. I want to lose 6-7 lbs. (I don't think more is realistic). I am almost 44. I started exercising a few days ago and have made a firm committment to keep exercising. I eat bacon and 2 eggs for breakfast. I have wings (not breaded), shrimp, hamburgers for dinner and a romaine and spinach salad with veggies, tomato, some meat and ff bleu cheese for lunches. I snack on nuts and these cheese snacks (I only eat about 1/3 serving per day) that have 0 carbs that I got at this new and really cool lo carb store. I also am still having bad chocolate cravings and some days make up chocolate stuff with cocoa, splenda and cream. I don't keep track of my water intake, but know that I drink at least 64 oz. a day, probably more. Thanks for your responses, this board is really helping me

123 pounds, eh? My left leg weighs 123 pounds. LOL My first reaction to your post was one of envy. "If I only had 7 pounds to lose, I wouldn't even bother trying," was what I thought. Then I took myself to task over that line of thinking because I will be where you're at in a few months, finding myself with only 7 pounds to lose, and I'll want it to come off just as badly as the 142 pounds I've lost to date. It matters not how many or how few pounds we want to lose. What matters is that we are striving to get there and we know that the low carb way of life is a healthy way to do it.

Please know that since you are almost at goal, it may take a while to get there. With that said, here's a few suggestions to get things moving:

Bacon - make sure there's no sugar in it
Wings - no BBQ sauce froma bottle (again, sugar)
Tomato - high glycemic; forego it for now
Nuts - go easy
Cheese snacks - ditch them for real cheese (nothing pasturized or processed) and then only 4 ounces per day
Water - drink at least 70 ounces of it per day
Chocolate cravings - most likely caused by ingesting something with traces of sugar in it (i.e.: cheese snack, sauce on wings, bacon with sugar in it)
Make sure the cream you are using is heavy whipping cream
Eat AT LEAST 3 cups of vegetables per day, such as: cucumbers, celery, radishes, green peppers, lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, et cetera.

Be patient. With 7 pounds to lose, it may take between 3 - 5 weeks to lose it. I hope to be in your position around mid Summer. Let us know when and if you reach your goal.
