Click the "my space" button at the top of this thread.

Choose "profile"

On that page go down to "chose" or "edit" avatar.

A little window will come up with the avatars that are available on the forum. You can pick one of those.

If you want to add your own avatar (like a pic of yourself) you have to first have it hosted on the web. (most ISP's will give you a space for a "home page" or the like.) Get a picture of yourself and crop it so that it is exactly square - same number of pixels high by wide. The forum software will shrink it for you to 48 X 48 pixels, but if it's not perfectly square to begin with, your pic will be distorted.

Once you have the pic up on the web, control click on it (until you have a URL that ends with ".jpg") then paste that URL into the space for "cusom avatar"
