| Chrystal, I'm not sure how many inches I've lost, but I feel better. I think it's coming off in strange places--my legs, the back of my hips, my face...etc. I know I'm insulin resistant and it's just going to cause a slow weight loss. It sucks, yes it does, but better losing a little than none at all. And I feel I can keep eating this way with no problem. I don't feel deprived, even on 1500-1600 calories a day. My daughter was telling me that I should come out there for Mother's Day so they can make me crepes like they used to do. I said, cool--but I'm not going to eat the crepes. But I'll find a recipe for low carb crepes, and we'll all be happy. My daughter, by the way, not following any diet, has lost almost 200 pounds in the past three years. I'm really proud of her. |

| WOW Terra, that is AWESOME!!!! Shetuna, You have gotten some really good advice. I stalled BIG time after my initial loss of only 6 lbs. It was very frustrating, indeed. But I stuck to it and have lost 30 lbs in 10 months so far. I am committed to this way of eating for the rest of my life now. Don't let the stalls discourage you. They are normal. And as everyone said, exercising creates more muscle, so assume that's what's happening. I am doing weight training now for about 2 months and haven't lost but a fraction of a lb, which seems to be coming back on, going away, coming back on......so, I feel your pain. But, I am NOT losing sight of the health benefits this WOL creates. That is the best part. I would love to be at my goal weight now, but it took me 10 years to put it all on, and now, most of it's gone in 10 months. Pretty good odds I would say. Hang in there, try to get the nut eating under control. You'll get there. | I actually weighed myself this morning and have lost 2 pounds so maybe that will help getting over the hump. The only question I had was that the loss initially was mainly due to water weight, working out and obviously my eating a lot less. This would likely happen with most diets. I was concerned that my carb levels for losing would be lower than or at the 20 grams level which would be very limiting as a WOE. |

| Mal, *most* of us find that our weight loss stalls out if we remain at the 20 carbs mark too long... This is why we tell newbies (over and over and over... Staying on induction longer than 2 weeks is a mistake SO many people make. It doesn't seem to matter how much we tell them; I guess everyone has to learn the hard way on their own. Water intake is the other biggie. People read our pleas to drink more water (at LEAST half your body weight in ounces per day -- I actually shoot for a gallon [128 oz]) but many do not take us seriously until they stall out and can't figure out why. ![]() I guess making this woe (way of eating) a WOL (way of life) means learning all this stuff along the way... Oh, and go back and read what I wrote in my post above -- about post-induction stall. You are *obviously* there, now! And there is NO WAY that 15 pounds is all water weight. Water weight --at MOST -- is 5-6 pounds. So you are doing GREAT, too! I hope your newfound progress continues! Summer |
