Induction - straight out of the Atkins' book;
http://www.titanic.kn-bremen.de/induction.html

Atkins' Acceptable Foods from the Atkins Center Site
http://atkinscenter.com/Archive/2001/12/15-464579.html

a few others;

This takes a long time to load..... so give it time.
It will list foods as to their glycemic indexhttp://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm
"The Glycemic Index (G.I.) is a numerical system of measuring how fast a carbohydrate triggers a rise in circulating blood sugar -- the higher the number, the greater the blood sugar response. So a low G.I. food will cause a small rise, while a high G.I. food will trigger a dramatic spike."

here is another Glycemic site
The Glycemic Index

USDA Nutritional Values site:

Redirect to Fisheries
Book mark it... you will use it often
it's great for carb counts, amongst other values

Protein Calculator:

Here are a couple of sites for fast food and chain restaurants in N America and the UK.

Dietfacts and FastFood info

Here are two for vegetarians
(i've been asked for them a few times) but I guess this would be a good thread to post all our fave recipe site on.

Topic: Body Fat Calculators

here is a downloadable calculator, but you need to have Excel on your computer, it was written for The Zone, but it works reguardless
http://kingspawn.home.att.net/BodyFat.htm

this one I really like and have found it to be pretty accurate, you will need a tape measure
body fat calculator and biofitness.com creates scientific body fat measurement in real time with optimum results here on time

another one that's not bad... I found it accurate too
Home Body Fat Test

{those last 2 gave me the same reading for LMB and BF%}

a site with info,
Understanding Your Body Fat Percentage

Also, Don't forget to check out all the great info on this site regarding Just starting the Low Carb way of life

Hi there!

You've found an "Information Only" thread.

These threads are not checked frequently, since we didn't anticipate getting questions here. We just noticed that some people ARE posting questions, so we're closing the thread to new posts.

Your questions are important to us and we don't want any being overlooked!

So, if you have questions, browse around the different forums and see if there's a discussion going on which addresses your question and jump on in!

But the BEST way to get responses that address your particular concern is to start your own thread.

If you'd like to start your own thread with a question or comment, just go to the forum of your choice. At the top left hand side, you'll see a button which says "New." When you click it, a menu will come down. Here, you choose "Topic."

A box will come up with two windows to fill in. The top one is where you give your thread a title. Like "What kind of scale to buy?" or "Need help calculating net carbs." The bottom window is where you post your question or comment.

Have a great day!

We look forward to your posts!

Maggie
