Terra, for some of us, even legal LC treats are treading on thin ice, triggering overindulgence and wakening the "sugar monster" within. That's why it's important for each of us to really get to know ourselves as individuals, and to be honest with ourselves about where we each have to draw the line.

I have a feeling that I am much older than most of you, in fact i feel older than dirt.
On june 5th I will celebrate my 65th birthday. I have been on medical disability for the past 7 years and I am begining to feel well on this low carbhohydrate way of eating,in fact, it is saving my life.
I am learning from all of you, how to cope, thank you Terra for understanding where I am coming from and thank you April for being such an inspiration.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>I'm not sure why you're missing sweets when there are so many you can make!<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Eating sweets, no matter if low carb or not, sets off a craving within me for the real thing. So, I must abstain.

Thanks for posting, however, so that others here may know of the recipes on this site.

I didn't realize that, but it does make sense. I think I am lucky not to crave sweets, as I am borderline diabetic. Of course, that could be part of the reason I don't--every time I had something even remotely sweet, it made me ill.

Rainbow, I am also disabled, and I hope that eating this way will help me to get back some semblance of a normal life. It is helping me to have more energy than I had before. Hopefully it does the same for you, too.

I don't go in for the "LC Convenience Foods" for the most part. I cook REAL food, and use REAL recipes. Yes, I make my LC sweet treats, but they don't set me off like some people. It truly is an individual thing. You have to find what works for you.
