As I am now moving into week 4 of the plan, and have upped my carb intake by 5g of week, as stated in the book, I have a question about the "power of 5" as Dr. Atkins discusses.
On page 174 of the book, he lists a series of vegetable servings that contain 5g of carbs. On page 501-502 in the gram counter, there are discrepancies between these carb counts. For instance, 1/2 cup of red peppers is part of the power of 5, yet the digestible carbs on page 502 state that 1/2 cup of red peppers has 3.3g.
When restricting a diet to 25g a day, this small gap of 1-3 carbs will add up and make a difference in exactly what, and how much, I eat of these veggies.
Any advice on counting and adjusting for these discrepancies?
