Just thought I'd introduce myself. I started induction today and so far so good. I have a lot of weight to lose so at the moment have not set myself a target - it would just seem too much to lose and would put me off! Have found this site really useful so far as I have been doing quite a bit of reading about this WOE. Would love to hear from any other newbies especially in the UK. I need all the help and support I can get.

Hi Clare! Congrats on a new day in your new way of eating. Hang tough - induction is about changing the way you take care of your body and a lot of the change is mental. You can do it!!! Welcome to the board - lots of supportive people from many different places.

Connie

Welcome, Clare.

Be sure to browse around the site, since there's a great deal of helpful information here, and while you're at it, near the top of this page, on the left, is a button labeled "basics" which is particularly helpful for those just starting this way of eating.

Make yourself at home!

Bienvenido Clare,

I have a lot of weight to lose, too, so we will probably get to know each other quite well.

Peace, Joanna

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I look forward to getting to know everyone better over the next months (and years!)Have now got to the end of my first day and am feeling great. Only thing I have found hard so far is the amount of water I've been drinking - starting to feel awash now but no doubt I'll get used to it!! Take care everyone.

The water will get easier.. I promise. Just make sure you are drinking throughout the day and not just gulping large amounts at once. Drinking to much at once just to hit you "water goal" will make you feel bloated and a bit sick... trust me I've been there.

If you aren't a huge fan of water... maybe consider giving up one or two of your carbs AFTER induction for little lemon juice to flavor up the water.

Good luck and see you around the board!

Hi Clare,
I am new to this aswell, this is my 3rd week.
I dont know about you but in the uk there is not a lot of low carbs foods about, do you have the same problem? Am from a small town so we dont have a lot of choice. I found the water thing hard at first, but now i am fine you will be to just give it time, i dont drink tap water but bottled flavoured water it goes down a lot better. Anyway good luck keep intouch.

WELCOME Clare!!!! It's great to have you with us!! I think you are wise to not set a huge goal for yourself at the moment. But 10 lbs or 1 stone wouldn't be to awfully outrageous. Then, when you reach that goal, you can come here, crow about it and get a whole bunch of screens with these....... 'cuz we'll all be jumping for joy WITH you!!!!
