| Hi Julie, I have put together a little spreadsheet that you can use if you have Excel on your machine and a tape measure in your hand. DISCLAIMER: This estimator is not very accurate if you have a long way to goal, or if you're especially tall or short, or if the moon is in Sagittarius. Sorry! Body fat goal seeker for women Body fat goal seeker for men There are also many other calculators available - try a google search. They will all give you different numbers, but what's really important is to follow a trend over time. If you already have a number for body fat percentage, here's how the numbers go: Total mass multiplied by body fat percentage equals fat mass. Example: 154 lb (total mass) * 34% (body fat %) = 52.4 lb (fat mass) Total mass minus fat mass equals lean mass. Example: 154 lb - 52.4 = 101.6 lb lean mass. You'll probably be working in kilos, but the operations are the same. Laurelyn LC Links [This message was edited by Laurelyn on 02-26-04 at 07:58 AM.] |
