Cauliflower is fine. Other good ones are broccoli and spinach. Just check them out on www.fitday.com and choose the ones with the best net carbs, which usually means high fiber ones. I've been eating tomatoes in small quantities since I started owl.

Hi Kristin:
Can't remember if you said you are doing Atkins, but if so, I'd recommend bying the book Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution and becoming familiar with the induction chapter. It has a two lists of vegtables; the first are the lower carb veggies and the second is the ones that are higher in carbs and therefore to be eaten more sparingly. It also has a carb counter in the back. My copy is only a couple of months old but already dogeared, I wouldn't try doing this WOE without it!

Good luck Kristen and welcome to the boards!

Vegetables I eat in abundance are:

broccoli - frozen
cauliflower - frozen
green beans - canned
spinach - canned
green peppers
cucumbers
iceberg lettuce
radishes
mushrooms

Spare me the lectures about fresh-versus-canned or frozen. I can better afford the canned and frozen, budget-wise and time wise.

I can't do the onions and tomatoes and carrots because they are too high glycemic for me.

Hi Kristen S.
This list is from the atkins site
Another article from the Atkins site

Tomatoes are in the other vegtables list. As with all things YMMV, but they are a source of lycopene and are good for you.

It is too hard to be carry the extra weight in the Arizona heat! Thanks again.
