Is it normal to gain a couple lbs. back at the end of induction? This happened to me before and then I never lost anything else, in fact I started gaining steadily. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I don't think this is normal. A couple of pounds can be attributed to water weight gain, but steadily gaining weight doesn't seem normal. What are you eating in a typical day? Did you change any thing you were doing?

    Hi Shawny,

This is happening with me too. I started induction on 3/1. I lost 9.5 lbs by the end of the first two weeks. After that I regained two of the pounds and have been gaining and relosing those lbs ever since. So far, no further gains but I'm scared there will be soon. I'd like to know what's up as well. I'm going back to strict induction today - no extra veges cuz that seems to be what's throwing me. The more veges I eat the lighter my sticks get and the less I seem to lose. Everything else I eat is still the same old induction foods.

Shawny - Sorry this is happening to you and NO, it's not typical. Stalling after induction is very typical but not steady weight gain.
How much weight do you want to lose?

Post a few days menus and I'm sure you'll get lots of feedback. Include portion sizes.

I lost five pounds on induction and then gained it all back the next week, staying on the plan perfectly. So it does happen. My average is a pound a week, and some weeks I don't lose anything. Some of us are just metabolically resistant.

But posting your menu would be the best idea, so we can get an idea if that's the problem.

I haven't changed anything since on induction. Except this week (my third week) I am adding a litte more veggies, I mean a little, maybe a 1/4 cup and sometimes a berry here and there.

b'fast 2 eggs and 1 sausage patty or
    mock danish or
2 eggs hard boiled mashed up w/mayo (egg salad)

lunch 2 cups lettuce greens w/2 tbs or less full fat salad dressing and
either a half of a chicken breast cut up or
an equal amount of chicken in chicken salad form
twice I have added a bacon strip to my salad

    dinner 1 cup broccoli and
    either a small steak or
    a chopped steak or
    a chicken breast or
    a piece of fried chicken
once I had a hamburger w/cheese,no bun just meat

This happed the last time I tried this woe. I really like this woe, but I want it to work for weight loss too. I don't want to gain weight with it so I have been watching my portion sizes. I am trying now to eat a little less meat and more veggies. Any input will help though. Thanks.

how much do you have to lose?
it does not look like you're eating enough at all!!
why only half a chicken breast w/ your salad at lunch?
    any snacks??
i would suggest upping your veggies ...

Yeah, more veggies for sure! You're not eating enough of them and you won't lose weight until you start eating more.

Are you exercising? I noticed that I was losing more inches than actual weight. At first, I wanted to throw the scale out of the window, but then I tried on a pair of pants that are noramlly snug and realized I was losing inches. With this diet and a decent exercise routine, I find that the sizes move faster than the scale. But that could be just me. I do agree each of us is different in how we lose weight.

I want to lose approx. 40 or more lbs. I also walk daily but not much walking. I use stairs several times a day at work, but as of yet have not started a regular exercise routine outside of these things. I work full time and then do side work in the evenings and trying to build a business in my spare time. I am trying to find the time to set aside for more exercise.

Are you sure about eating more? I am scared to eat more! I thought I was eating too much and that was why I started gaining again, so I cut back on the meat.

And I thought I was limited to 3 cups of veggies during induction?

oh yeah....with my current menu I am eating approx. 1200 calories per day which I thought was good?!? I take fiber also, but I don't think it is working as well as it did when I first started this woe two weeks ago, so I think I'm gonna try to mix up some of Maggie's cereal and try that.

It looks to me like you might not be eating enough. There is no reason why you can't have an entire chicken breast with lunch. And you should probably put some snacks in there, in the form of veggies and also some sort of meat. Remember that if you are drastically cutting the amount of food you eat, your body will hang on to what it's got! You also are eating a pretty low fat diet, I would say. Do you use olive oil in your cooking? Try to get some healthy fats in there. I hope it starts melting off again soon!

I do use olive oil and butter and when I cook my steaks, I use coconut oil, it gives my steak a wonderful flavor.

Wow, you really think I should eat more?

One reason I don't eat more at lunch is cause I am not very hungry, but I guess I could use a snack in the afternoons. I will add a snack and see what happens.

    Thanks

    absolutely eat more.
try making a HUGE salad for lunch. w/ lettuce, spinach, broc, cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms, celery and maybe even a few bacon crumbles.
definitely eat a whole chicken breast!

if you're not hungry, don't make yourself sick or anything ...
but in my opinion, i'd really work hard to get in some more veggies.
an exercise program will make a big difference too.
lastly, how tall are you? and what is your current weight? starting weight?
