| okay - i need to lose weight fast! spamantha504 04-01-04, 06:38 PM okay - i need to lose weight fast! okay, i know it's probably unhealthy to lose weight this fast - but i would like to lose 20 pounds in a month - specifically to go prom dress shopping - any tips to lose weight fast??? "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" prinzess_fay 04-01-04, 07:22 PM hello spamatha504, I don't want to sound harsh or anything, but 20lbs in one month (unless your greatly over weight) is going to be next to impossible no matter what way of eating you choose. It is VERY unhealthy to loose that kind of weight that fast as you have already stated. The best thing you can do for yourself is to pick a eating plan and start following it ASAP as well as exercise too. Loose what you can and try to be happy with what comes off. In the end (even if you don't loose 20lbs by prom) you can say you did the best you could and lost as much as your body felt comfortable looseing, and your healthier for doing that way too! I am very sorry if I am not telling you what you would like to hear. All of us would love to loose weight fast too, but that just isn't a realistic goal. Health is/should be the primary goal. I wish you the best with what ever you choose and hope that you will enjoy your prom no matter what size you are. "No more looking back and saying "what if", now I look forward and see success!" You can help yourself now by going on this wol (way of life) now, and you may (probably) lose a few pounds, but highly unlikely to lose 20 pounds. Just out of curiousity, what is your weight and height or measurements? Losing 20 pounds in a month is not almost unheard of, but the thought of trying to lose that much so quickly is dangerous. Be careful, you will be fine even if you don't lose all of the 20 pounds as soon as you want. Kristie remember: weight loss slow and steady wins the race, but it does get frustrating paladin 04-01-04, 07:57 PM I lost about 20 pounds in my first month, but I was at 235 pounds. Low carbing is an effective way to loose weight, but the speed that you loose it is proportional to your weight. The less you weigh, the slower you will loose it. While the people on this website are all trying to loose weight, we know that this is not a 'quick fix'. We don't expect overnight results. In fact it has taken me 5 months to loose 50 pounds. It will probably take me another 6 to 18 months to loose the 25-35 additional pounds to be at my ideal weight. Furthermore, I know that it is a way of life for me now, and I am in no rush. --------------------------------------------- On the other hand, there are many things that you can do to maximize the benefits of this woe, such as aerobics and weight training. I would recommend that you look at Hottie by next weekend... for some good suggestions. Just don't expect any miracles. The people at your school know what you look like already, and either accept you or not. This isn't a crash diet. Please take care of your health; it's more important than how you look--or how you think you look. 213/196/145 Brightlady 04-02-04, 06:10 AM Spam, you've already asked this question and gotten some good replies. But I would give it a good try anyway. BUT, once you reach your goal weight, don't go back to eating the way you did before or you will put it right back on, and some extra probably. I would drink a ton of water (not all at once-but throughout the day), exercise and eat clean. Have you read any books on LCing???? This is not a crash diet, well, it's not a diet at all. It has to be a LIFESTYLE change. And please, please, please, don't start yo-yoing. You will do so much harm to your metabolism. We "older" folks speak from experience. You need to educate yourself for a lifetime of health and being fit. I agree with Terra.......lose what you can, have fun. But if you educate yourself NOW, you will give yourself skills that will last you the rest of your life.
