| Hi All, I am very new at this and have started reading Sugar Busters (just started). I can't find a chart or anything anywhere that would tell you how many carbs you are supposed to have a day. Is there anything on the web that can give you an overall "picture" of what our carb counts should be, i.e., a chart or something similar? Is it based on each individuals physical make-up? Both my wife and I are trying this. My goal is 15-20lbs and my wife's is 30 lbs. Thanks in advance for any help, Todderus |

| Welcome Todderus, I tried to post to you yesterday but my computer crashed. Anyway, the number of carbs you want to eat per day completely depends on which diet plan you are following. I'm on Atkins which, during the induction phase, allows up to 20 grams of carbs per day for everyone who follows it regardless of how much weight they want to lose or if they are male or female. Strongly suggest you research plans, select a plan, read the book cover to cover, and THEN proceed with the perscribed way of eating. That way you'll ensure success! I'm sure you're anxious to get started and are feeling motivated NOW but do yourself a favor and don't sabotage your efforts before they are really even begun. You can probably keep your current level of motivation going and lose some preemptive weight now by reducing your portion sizes and getting daily exercise until you are ready to enact your low carb plan. Drink TONS of water (100 ounces per day minimum). That helps to (believe it or not) eliminate several pounds of excess body fluids within the first week. It really makes a big difference in how you look and feel so this may be a good motivator in and of itself. Good luck.
