| As I've mentioned earlier I did well on Atkins before, but fell off the wagon. Is it normal to lose more slowly the second time around. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. |

| Some people have a bit more difficulty doing it the second time around. It will still work for them, just not as fast. That does not sound like your case though, if you are not loosing at all. Why don't you post a few menues so that we can check if they are OK?

| Have you taken your measurements? That is the most reliable way to tell if you are losing, other than how your clothes are fitting. Men have the advantage for losing weight. (gosh darnit!!!) Hang in there. It will happen. I HAVE heard that it might be slower the second time around. Hang in there!!!!

| My experience is that it does take longer the second time around. I LC'd for 9 months back in '99 and had really good results and then 'sorta' followed the rules for about 2 more years. During that first 9 month stint, I pretty much hit goal and then gradually gained back a good portion. About a year ago, I got back on plan and am back on my way to my goal again, but I'm not losing as fast this time. I'm plagued by stalls and that's pretty frustrating. The GOOD news is that the health benefits far outweigh (pun intended) the smaller loss. (Clinically, I'm no longer diabetic and have near normal cholesterol, BP for the first time in about 20 years.) There will be a MAJOR celebration with I break the 140 mark. That was my previous LC low and my new goal is a bit lower. Hang in there and know that what you're doing is changing your life... lasting changes take time If you're not using the scale to track the loss, try getting some measurements and see how you're doing. I'm a frequent weigher and that doesn't work for a lot of people. (I graph it and see that over long term, there IS a gradual decline.) Try not to fret about hubby's quick loss. My DH dropped weight like crazy when he joined me on the plan... the male metabolism is just set up differently. He didn't even NEED to lose but the changes (and his first go-round with LC) really melted it away. Drink your water ,eat your veggies and come to the board often for encouragment. If you post a few days of your menus, there'll be plenty of folks to review them and give you pointers. Most of all, be patient and kind to yourself. You're doing what is best for your health and your life. Longterm is what matters Hang in there. You can do it. It works!! Ginger
