    Hey everyone,Im back. Little update, Ive lost a total of 43lbs. Got a little off track due to so teeth problems. Now trying to get going again.

    I have now lost a total of 28lbs. I have added more veg. in. I have so much energy i dont want to sleep. Im a little sad because i havent went down in jeans yet. thank you all for the support.

    hey brandy. i try to stray away from doing 1-on-1 dieting advice because i don't want to misrepresent myself as more knowledgeable than others here just because i run the site. i'm not!

    on you question re: protein, i don't know if lack of protein specifically stops losses - someone else may know - but i know many people report not eating enough does. metabolism slows thinking you're starving and hangs on to every ounce. protein and fats help you feel full. plus the menu you mentioned had no veggies, which is usually a red flag to me that someone is not eating enough. veggies have lots of nutrients plus often fiber which keeps the carbs from being processed the same way, and they really aren't the problem for most of us, y'kno? i also have been reading Protein Power, though, and they advocate for adequate protein convincingly. and we are all individual, which means things impacts us differently. you may be interested in this article about calculating protein needs- Understanding Protein Amounts | LowCarbEating

    the key for me was to stop acting like i was on a diet with a deprivation mindset trying to force it - and just try to make healthy choices consistently, eating until i was no longer hungry, you know? low carb isn't no carb, and honestly, carbs have just 4 calories each, so cutting them all out isn't the fast track to losses. the idea is that controlling them regulates our blood sugar/insulin responses, and normalizing those functions help us to burn fat for energy instead of the sugar turned to blood glucose that is coming from our diet.

    you may want to open a thread in the newbies or ongoing weight loss area, with a few days of menus if your losses have stopped and others can help you troubleshoot. but I'll warn you: you'll be told to start eating your veggies! you should not have to be hungry on a lc plan. hope that helps a bit.

    Ive lost another 6LBS. As of tonight and im so happy. I think that makes a total of 21LBS. I can see it in my cloths. But my waist hasnt changed but my booty and chest has. Im so excited i had to share with someone.

    Thank you guys im doing great i believe. I went and bought a new set of scales and they weigh me more than my old ones and i know this one is right. But ill be ok!!! Im going to keep going with a smile on my face. I love this sight It helps keep me on the right track when i thought i was doing all wrong.
