Several people have mentioned taking carb blockers in this thread. What exactly is that?

carb blockers are some kind of supplement that is marketed to supposedly block the absorbtion of some carbs that are ingested during the day... although they could be as much of a pipedream as the pipedreamsfield pasta..;-)

I have avoided this pasta . . . just did not want to rock my LC boat, which had sprung a small leak, but is perhaps fixed. Even after reading the article, I am still a bit cautious, especially when I don't understand the mumbo-jumbo. Perhaps it is valid, but I'll wait a while before trying it.

And Goddess, hang in there! I too, get very upset when DH and I have a spat. It eats away, ya know? I am sending out healing vibes down K-10.

I have eaten Dreamfield Pasta about five times. I always stick to the 1/2 cup uncooked portion. In fact that is all I ever cook at a time.
It is very good and I have never had any problems with gaining weight, being bloated, being hungry in a few hours or anything else. :fork:
I have read that some people who are diabetic and or insulin resistant have problems with it.
YUMMY,
Susie

alida- thanks for the vibes! actually, this is an old spat mentioned here 'cause i posted it a while back. but i can still use the healing vibes for sure!

hubby...well, he's moody sometimes, y'kno. we are under some stress right now, $ and having a house on the market, and he's a bit...fussy? i dunno. actually, it's much better than it was then, so it's not like i'm losing weight over it. har!

i've learned over the years to give the man his space and that the best way to deal with it is just kind of pretend he's being normal. weird, yes. but it's what works, so who am i to argue?

men and weightloss: if i could figure these two subjects out, i'd be a millionare, man!

I finally found some Dreamsfield elbow mac at the Walmart here. I tried it, liked it and stuck to the 1/2 cup portion also. I've only had it once so far. I figure it's good for a once a month treat. It's great with alfredo sauce.

Dixie, spats with hubbies are the worst. But if we figure out that they are from Mars and we are from Venus, things go a lot smoother. (Actually, I am the one who goes into a cave when things are bothering me and DH is the one who wants to talk it out, hehe) But it works out.

I use it all the time... well .. not ALL the time.. maybe 2-3 times a month. I have found that it doesn't bother me, and I find its taste great! If anyone should happen to weigh the very next day after eating it, you just might find your weight does go up, but given time for it to 'work its way through your system', I think you'll be surprised to find it makes no difference ,,,, in the long run.

I've had the rotini, & it's yummy! My hubby likes it, & he's not lc-ing, so I make it a few x a month. Gotta try some mac & cheese!

I eat it rarely. (Not that it's not good, but I worry about if it really is good for the lc) Still, I've made some of my old favorite pasta dishes with the penne and they came out great. (DW who's not on the lc also approved)

I keep it in the closet, when I feel I need some pasta, I make a small amount, not sure what 1/2 cup uncooked comes when it is cooked, I usually just measure out 1/2 cup cooked, and have it with sauce, meatballs, or sausage...

and usually have a large salad with it so I am not wanting to go back for a second helping....
