Hello Emma and welcome back to LCE.

could you post some of your menus?? We can pin point problem areas better that way.

The best advise I can personally give you is to keep your food choices varied. Steak, eggs and cheese every day gets darn dull and in turn makes it VERY easy to fall off the low carb wagon.

Do check out the recipe forum here, GREAT ideas!!!

Hi Emma! Welcome back!

I took a quick look at your menu, and these are the things that popped out at me right away:

~ Where's your water? I see coffee and diet pop listed, but not water.
You should be drinking at least 64oz. of water a day... preferrably half your
body weight in ounces (so if you weigh 200, drink 100oz.) per day. Just
adding that will help you "flush" the fat out. Plus, a lot of people drink an
extra 8 oz. for each pop or coffee they have too.

~ Give up the Cool Whip and make some real whipped cream. You'll get rid of
the trans-fats and sugar... even though it's a small amount, it can make a
difference. Whip 1 c. cream with splenda (to taste) and 1/4 t. unflavored
gelatin. The gelatin will help stabilize the cream once it's whipped, and it
will last longer in the fridge, so you'll have it handy when you want it.

~ Add some more veges. The general consensus here is that if it's green and
leafy, the carbs pretty much don't count. That means, you can still have
your salads, but add a cooked vege too! Like green beans, mashed
cauliflower "fauxtatoes" or baked spinach.

I'm sure others will have advice too, but that's what I noticed on a quick glance. Hope this helps! And don't beat yourself up about falling off the wagon... everyone does it. Just get back on and move forward!

Good advice Mada. I'll only add that Ham is very salty and can cause water retention which will mask weight loss. Try giving that up for a few days and see if it helps.

WElcome back!! I notice two things that might help--more vegetables! even if you are eating big salads you need more veggies--you can have beans, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, asparagus, peppers, tomatos (now and then), try a few baby carrots now and then for variety, I don't see enough of the green things there and I don't see any water and I can't speak for everyone, but if I don't get at least 64 oz and I do best at around 100 oz I don't lose much.

A suggestion on the water--get you a britta filtered pitcher, fill it up and drink the whole thing--it holds half a gallor or 64 oz. If you can empty it every day then you are getting the minimum requirements of water for your body. It also cleans the water and it tastes better--add a couple of drops of lemon juice or a slice of real lemon to your water--no sugar or other flavoring but it helped me in the beginning--now I prefer it completely plain--or try a bottle of the flavored water--no caffine or sugars but it is a your mileage may vary thing--I can drink it, but some can't!

NO one ever fat eating veggies--remember that!

say "hi" and the entire board says
HELLO

shy group, aren't we???

Looking at your menu, you really do need to add more veggies.

do an egg ham spinach frittata or scrambled egg mix for breakfast

BIG salad for lunch - cobb, chef - whatever you please.

Dinner - grilled steak or pork chop with asparagus

ask, we'll help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Back. I have to agree with what has already been posted...more veggies and more water. Cool Whip is a big no no.

In addition to above, I think you aren't eating enough.

I would up the protein a little at lunch and dinner.

Get that water in!

Welcome back, Emma.

Well, I'll add my ditto. What everyone said is right on. Also note that if this is your second go-around with Atkins, your weight loss MAY be slower. I don't know why that is, it just is.

Don't let us overpower you! It's just that when we collectively hear a cry for help, or a plea for some encouragement, we give it! Please write often.
