Default OT Can't Believe my Eyes!

Not quite sure where to put this thread so move it where ever. Just wanted to share this sad and ironic email i received today at work:

*******************************
Nothing is better than eating yummy donuts and supporting a good cause at the same time.
If you would like to order a box of Krispy Kreme donuts - please see me on or before Monday, September 13.
Donuts will be delivered on Friday, September 17.
Donuts are $6.00 per dozen and I will need to collect the money at the time of order.
All proceeds will be donated to the American Diabetes Society.
*************************************************

AAARGH!

Let me lift my jaw off the desk and respond here. That woulda made a great joke if it wasn't real and so tragically wrong. UNBELIEVABLE. I thank God I was able to shake MY Krispy Kreme addiction before I ended up needing help from the ADS. I'd write more, but I'm still just stunned at the ignorance.

Oh, that is tragically funny! Reminds me a bit of how I felt when I noticed the dinner they were feeding my senior diabetic friend in the hospital: roast beef (no problem), huge mound of mashed potatoes and carrots, an orange juice and a sugar dessert!!! :( Then a nurse came by and gave her an insulin injection. Honestly, I really wanted to say something, but my experience is it is a thankless job. Change and enlightenment happens very slowly.

I know just what you mean, Jen. One of the hospitals around here has a "diabetes center" which they advertise on tv. On these commercials a couple of smiling, portly nurses offer clients plates of exactly the same dinner. Makes me want to start a class action suit. Lucky for them I can't practice privately since I work for the courts.
