Unhappy gain of inches

I had a rude awakening!! I've been doing Atkins for 1 1/2 years... still 10 lbs from goal. When I started this WOE I wrote down my weight and measurements. I really didn't start exercising until 6 months into the diet (and still didn't lose the 10 lbs.) Anyway, I exercised, cardio & weights for 5 months and have been doing it spasmodically the last 3 months. Well... DARN, the problem is I noticed some of my shorts were a little snug..then I tried on a pair the other day... OH My!!! During this time I have not gained, but have not eaten really close to the diet...you know, sugar alcohols eeek! But, no real sugar, flour or carb laden vegetables/fruit. So, I decided to measure and I had gained nearly an inch to 1 1/2 inches bust, waist, stomach, hips, that is each not altogether... this is over what I had measured last year after being on the diet for 4 months...before exercising.. what caused that gain in inches????

That is a bummer. You should probably post what you've been eating. Also, I can gain that many inches at TOM with all the bloating. But, maybe you've been over doing legal foods? I had that problem a year ago myself. I pretty much stay away from all processed food, including low carb stuff.

I feel better when I focus on lean meats, veggies and fruits. I also don't retain hardly any water on those foods.

berta-also be aware that sugar alcohols affect some people the SAME way that sugar does...could be part of the problem? anyway, good luck narrowing it down.
