| You know all those cut and paste questions that people send you in e mails, like what time is it? what's your favorite color? etc etc...well, one of those ?'s was 'what do you think about 1st thing in the morning?' my answer was: do I have the motivation to exercise this morning? then, I put next to it, 'it use to be what I weigh but not anymore'...a friend e mailed to ask if I was at goal with what I said...here was my response...that no, I was 9 lbs from where I wanted to be...however, like in another post, weight loss and maintaining was now secondary for me and then I added this to what I told her: I've learned new eating habits. I stick to my plan pretty much on a daily basis. I continue to exercise 5 to 6 days a week (and when I was heavier, I forewent the exercise) I'm a lot happier. I'm a lot healthier. I don't crave sugar the way I use to. I'm never hungry (except on fasting days, I might have a little hunger) I can now go to almost any restaurant and order on-plan. I use to stray from doing this but not anymore. Size 3 jeans are too big on me now. I'm not afraid to show a little skin. So, maybe I haven't met my goal on the scale, but I've met my goal as far as feeling better and being happier and healthier goes...so I guess to really answer your question: the answer is yes and no. | You've reached a point where I one day hope to be: Not perfect, but content just the same. That in itself is a milestone. When I wake up each morning, my first thought is, "What do I have to do at work today?" My second thought is, "I wonder what I weigh." (I really need to get away from weighing myself every darn morning.) Those times that I'd gone on low-fat diets, I'd wake up thinking, "What am I going to eat today" and I'd go to bed thinking "What am I going to eat tomorrow." I never felt satisfied. Not so with low carbing. Oh...I might think about what I'm going to make for dinner, so that I can make sure I've got the ingredients. But I don't spend every waking minute dwelling on what I'll eat.

| Ah! That warm fuzzy feeling of CONTENTMENT . . . of being happy with what you are and where you are in life! Thank you for a great post.

| Gosh, I haven't thought about this, but I guess the first thing I think about when I get up is: "What can I accomplish today?" followed by "What the HECK am I going to make for dinner?" Sheyla, you never cease to amaze me, watching your transformation has been like watching a beautiful monarch butterfly emerge from its lovely chrysalis. You GO girl!!!!!
