Default LC and the military? Will it ever happen? MAYBE!

Well if you don't know, the military tends to push a low fat regimen, not only to perform, but to lose weight. Well as we all know here, that's just a bunch of phooey! But I guess they are stuck in old ways. But on the upside, I think alot of the military are starting to look to LC to stablize their weight.

I was in to see my recruiter today, and another local recruiter was in, and he has lost about 20 lbs in the last month. Of course my SSgt asked "How?" and the fellow recruiter replied "My wife and I have been on Atkins and we love it". Now by no standard is this man obese or even really overweight, but he actually said that his wife and himself plan on LCing for life now. It was so interesting.... expecially to hear from a recruiter. Well I just thought that was interesting! Not to mention I had someone to talk Atkins successes with!

It's nice to hear from someone that believes in low carbing when you are out and about in the world. That's great that it's someone in the military and someone who is going to stick with it for life.

My husband had been doing Atkins maintenance since May this year--I "forced" him on it in February after I lost about 25 lbs in January on it! He had about 20 to lose and I had 100--and well, you know the rest of the story! His BC(battalion Commander) had done ATkins as have about half his soldiers on weight programs this year...it is accepted and many of the doctors have either tried it or know enough about it to know that it works and is effective even on a dining facility meal plan it is possible...this is a big change from a few years ago when I saw a nutritionist and she gave up on me after 12 weeks when I gained 13 lbs on a 1200 calorie a day with 1 hour a day workout regimine!
