Hi everyone! Thank goodness the holidays are past us! I love them, but need to get back to "normal" days with normal eating! Today was ok so far -

b:eggs, bacon, GT, water
l: Pepperoni, cheese, water
s:water, water
d:steak, mashed caulif, salad, lc pudding, water
supplements, and some exercise (on an exercise ball - what fun!)

Anyway, new year, and new attitude - I'm just ready for the next journey! Bring it on! My 1 year Adkinsversary is Jan 5th, and this year I begin with 50 lbs less of myself! Is that motivation or what?

Great job, biddy!

I had yogurt for breakfast, a salad w/ pepperoni and cheese and s/f pudding for lunch, and ribs from DH's last kill for dinner, with 1/2 cup pea salad. I got my green tea in, and made some "fudge" I got a recipe for here....right now, I need to finish this water!

Any of you that know me know I do much better on the weekdays. I do love the structure Monday-Friday brings!

How's everyone else faring?

Well, M&M, looks like you two are doing great in the supplement department. I too have a day every now and then when I just HAVE to take a nap. It will get worse when I go back to work the end of Feb.

Juliana, you are doing FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you Biddy, new attitude, new year!!!! Bring it on!!!!!!

I'm re-evaluating my diet a la Dr. Perricone. It will revitalize my eating choices I think.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow if my dinner was way off plan or not. I ate tortilla soup at a restaurant. I quizzed the waiter-kid. Does it have potatoes or carrots in it? (no) What kid of veggies does it have? (avocado and bell peppers) Is it thin like broth or thick like a creamed soup? (thin) OK, I'll take it without the strips.

It came and I had to pick out the tortilla strips. It wasn't a broth, but it wasn't really thick either. I figured it probably had a little corn starch or some other thickener in it, but I ate it anyway. As I got to the bottom of the bowl, when it was no longer hot, I realized it had a texture like pureed potato. It was a bottomless bowl--and it was very good (even though I never found a single piece of chicken)-- but needless to say, I didn't have seconds. I emailed the restaurant chain asking for nutritional information on the soup, but the damage is already done. Tomorrow I should know if it knocked me out of ketosis.

Breakfast: 1/4C almonds
Lunch: small taco salad easy on the cheese (I'm usually heavy on the cheese)
Dinner: Hidden carb soup (aka: Island's tortilla soup)
Snack: fried cabbage w/sour cream (my new favorite veggie)
Liquids: 6C green tea; 2C reg. iced tea; 2C water
Calories: about 1,324
Net carbs: I'm estimating about 50 (69 - 19 fiber)

On the positive side, I got through 3/4 of a mile on the 1-mile Walking Away the Pounds dvd.

Melissa, don't sweat it tooooo much and since you worked out today, you probably worked off all the glycogen the soup might have made your body produce. Drink extra water and tea tomorrow.

Sounds like you are all doing well.

Today was pretty good but I've been emotional this evening (dealing with a situation) and snacked on plan but more than I needed.

Bought a walking dvd - that should help me.

This morning the stix showed me still in ketosis. In fact, one shade darker than last week. It was probably last night's exercise that boosted the shade from pinkish to purplish.

I've polished off three cups of the green already this morning and plan to guzzle a bit of water before lunch.

I've really, really enjoyed my four days off this week. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. It's raining outside...pouring actually. We don't get much rain in So. Cal so I'm just loving it. I could sit inside, sip tea and watch the rain outside pound the asphalt all day long...well, except for when I'm snuggled under the comforter taking a nap. LOL I don't know what it is about rain, but it has a very, very soothing effect on me. An often much needed soothing effect.

Hi Turtles

Yesterday wasn't a real good day because I ate less than 25g of net carbs... I nees to buy ketostix to start to add more carbs and check about my CCLL. I?m eating 25g/day (not every day, but I try) about 6 weeks and I know its time to try a little more.

I have to back to the treadmill this week... this is one of my resolutions for 2005. Do my exercises in a regular basis.

Well, I think I?ll try another challenges, maybe valentines day... I?m thinking about it!

My menu yesterday:

B ~ decaff coffee with cream
L ~3 eggs, with onions and bacon
D ~ grilled beef, with jilo and cale with grounded cheese
S ~nothing
Water, supllements --> ok
Net carbs: 18 - 5(fiber) = 13g
Cals: 1022

I've gotten in good amounts of water AND tea so far today. I ate some barley, oats, buckwheat cereal this morning (homemade) and it was good. It stuck with me a long, long time. So that told me it digested slowly, not spiking the blood sugar levels. We'll see what it does to the scale. If it's not bad, I'll continue to eat that on my exercise days. It's good and hearty. AND FULL of fiber!!!!!!!.............so it's really heart healthy.

Of course, I didn't exercise....it's too long a story to tell, by my "timing" got offtrack tonite. That's why I'm posting at 10:30 at night, when I should be in bed.

I ate well, took my supplements, and drank most of my water. My weight was still holding at 228. DARN!! I'm soooo mad at myself for this most recent gain. I was this weight back in August. I've wasted soooooo much time screwing around, losing and gaining, losing and gaining. Hopefully this year, it will be more losing, and alot less gaining!

Had a good day today - even exercised!

I am reminded that I am to only eat when hungry and only until satisfied! Ouch!!! Keeping snacks to only as truly needed.

Cut out the wheat & nuts (except a few in my salad). Will see how I do this week. If I lose I'll add my lc pumpkin bran muffin back in next week.

Breakfast: left over fried cabbage w/bacon and sour cream
Lunch: a new batch of fried cabbage w/bacon and sour cream (yes, I ate the whole thing but I only used two pieces of bacon instead of four.)
Dinner: Chicken enchilada soup...substituted cabbage for the tortillas and it was almost as good.
Liquids: 4C green tea; 3C water; 3C diet soda
Calories: 1,206
Net Carbs: 34 (54 - 20 fiber)

Cabbage for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But it was good. It's also high in fiber.
I did WATP 1 mile today, too. I've been at 205 for about two weeks and I'm really ready to lose a pound or two before TOM comes to visit me next week.

I didn't do well today. Oh...I stayed slightly under my calorie limit, but I didn't get much in the way of nutrition for my calories...and practically no fiber.

Breakfast: none (planned on it, but got busy at work and I forgot to eat it)
Lunch: Asian chicken salad...the lettuce and chicken anyway. (I had to pick through the wontons, noodles and mandarin oranges which made up a good portion of the salad. The bad lunch choice came because I was busy chatting and didn't look at the menu until the waiter came over....and then I wasn't wearing my glasses and couldn't read the ingredients. I just blurted out the first interesting salad I came to.
Dinner: Makeshift taco salad--ground beef, lettuce and Franks Red Hot. I worked late, came home really hungry and used too much ground beef and not enough lettuce...then I had seconds. The bad part was that seconds didn't even taste good, but I just kept on eating. That is the kind of behavior that got me in trouble to begin with.
Liquids: 3C green tea; 1.5C iced tea; 2C water; 1C diet Rootbeer (didn't do so great here, either)
Calories: 1,187 (too many calories for the nutrition I consumed)
Net Carbs: 7 (10 - 3 fiber) (not enough carbs; not enough fiber)
Supplements: Yes! about the only thing I did right today.

Tomorrow will be better!
