| I ate well but didn't get enough exercise in today. Sundays tend to be my veg out days in more ways than one. Breakfast: two eggs (scrambled) and five--yes, count 'em five--slices of bacon Lunch: Atkins shake and 1/4C of sliced almonds Dinner: Wendy's BLT chicken salad (12 net carbs in that puppy including the dressing) Liquids: 4C green tea; 2C water; 3C diet Coke Calories: 1,142 Net Carbs: 17 (28 - 11 fiber) I ate a late breakfast and didn't feel like eating lunch. But I made myself eat something about 2 p.m. because I knew if I didn't I'd be starving come dinner. Speaking of dinner... Sonly and I were out running around and he wanted Wendy's. I figured it would be easy enough. And, it sort of was, but... I asked for ranch dressing and was given honey mustard. It had 11 carbs just for the dressing. I told the girl that I wanted ranch because the honey mustard didn't fit my diet. She tried to tell me that it would because it was low fat. Instead of explaining low carb eating with a line of people behind me, I just told her that I was on a high fat diet to lose weight. She looked at me as though I were insane....maybe I am! LOL

| No, Melissa, you're not insane - you're INFORMED and she's not yet! Maxi - 10 POUNDS IN 12 DAYS - that is amazing!:bellydanc Wow, I am really impressed! (And jealous too) Keep this up and you'll be on the "hare" team. Well I have done well sticking with my commitment from yesterday. Had my lc pumpkin bran muffin w/ breakfast and no other wheat. Snack was 1 angel egg half, nothing more. Then I couldn't even finish my dinner - the appetite loss is finally kicking back in again. I'm sooooo happy about that. :jump: Drinking my water, walking, etc. Karen

| Melissa, I'm proud of you for not choking the girl....too many witnesses anyway! Let's see:for breakfast Melissa and I BOTH had 5 peices of bacon and 2 eggs...only mine were sunny side up! How funny! I had a l/c yogurt for snack. "Lunch" was some spinach/artichoke dip, dipped with celery. No, I didn't make the dip. I took Mary Kay's advice and bought some at Kroger! Afternoon snack (after walking at the park with DD and DH, with my ankle and hand weights....)was 3 "angel eggs" halves. Dinner: I had 3 pc. (shoulda only had 2) chicken fried steak. And salad. I made l/c "fudge" for dessert, but only licked the bowl and spoon. I've had 2/3 of my water, all my Green Tea, and my supplements. Probably one of the best weekends, foodwise, I've had in a while. Here's hoping the 2 pound loss sticks!

| What the heck are "angel eggs?" Maxi, you are cruisin along!!!!! :jumpgreen My ear seems to be FINE now, YAY!!!!! I ate popcorn (home-popped, not the bagged junk) and am UP 2 lbs this morning, grrrrrr. I am going to Curves this morning AND gonna do my Leslie Sansone Walkaerobics today!!! (and finish putting away my Christmas decorations) Yesterday I had my "porridge" for brunch, and "breakfast" for dinner with scrambled eggs, with cheese, mushrooms, onion and sweet peppers; bacon and sausage. I had a pretty salty day yesterday too, so that might account for the gain. Gotta get my water in. did my sups and green tea too.

| Hi Turtles I?m trying somthing different since last saturday. I made a deal with my Australian friend (we both are turtles and she is in this WOE too) to eat less than 20g of net carbs day for one week. We read that some people with metabolic resistance had to eat less than 20g of carbs a day to lose something. Ok, I officialy trying to avoid some high carb foods and trying to stay below 20g. And yeah, I?m eating all my veg and water and supplements. I?ll call this a hard re-induction :fork: I ate 14g during saturday and 12g during sunday and I had lost 1.1 pds. I?ll try this by an entire week and see what happens. i?ll keep you posted. Hugs Juliana

| Ju, if that works for you, then you have your answer. But generally speaking, most people should eat the whole 20 grams. Good luck!!!!!

| Juliana - Dr. Atkins does not encourage going back to induction unless you've been off plan for a long time. I read it somewhere in DANDR recently and am too lazy to dig to find it. Barb - "angle eggs" are commonly known at deviled eggs. Many people I know call them angle eggs because they look more like angels than devils - I think that when low carbing they are little angles! Had another good day - scale also says I'm down a pound - yeah! Will officially weigh in on Wednesday. Only wheat was muffin - lots of vegies today. Snacks: morning none - afternoon - 24 peanuts and 1/2 angel egg. Will have some lc egg custard for dessert. I'm not having any problem eating the way I've commited to and I believe the excercise is definately helping. Karen

| My last 2 pound loss did not stick.....in fact, BOTH pounds found me again this morning. I think it's a combination of too much sodium, too little water (didn't get my whole gallon in) and not enough sleep. I didn't panic, though. I breathed deeply, gave myself a little pep talk and went on with my day like it didn't happen. *********A YEAR AGO, I WOULD'VE GONE TO KRISPY KREME TO DROWN MY SORROWS, TELLING MYSELF IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!!!!********* I don't want to keep repeating this, but it's soooo true: reading "The Ultimate Weight Solution, 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom" REALLY helped me with my "inner dialogue". AND, the wonderful people I've met on this site have done wonders to help me get back on track and move forward. I did my best today. I'll have to try to do my best every day for the rest of my life. I'm not one of those people who can eat whatever they want and never gain. I'm ME and this is how it is. I have a Dr.Phil UWS calendar (the kind where you tear off a page each day) and the January 9th page said: "Weight loss doesn't just happen; it happens one step at a time." So true. Didn't mean to get preachy there, ladies! I'm just preachin' to myself!

| Maxibee, I love your "preaching"! It tends to stick in my mind on trying days. I thought of you today...I was at Sam's club and saw Dr Phil's book you mention often. I almost picked it up - I love a good pep talk now and then - but might see if 1/2 price book store has it first. I did my best today as well. Currently trying to finish my water before bedtime - everything else fell into place. I have been doing induction because of my poor choices around the holidays with lc candy, and hc cookies here and there. I think my body just needed to re-group, I'm currently in my 2nd week. All is going well, and I'll be ready to up the carbs before long.

| Hey, biddy! I came back her to post my menu and I saw your post. I think I might start a Dr.Phil thread. A few others showed some interest in it.....wouldn't hurt me to re-read the book. Maxi's Monday Menu: Breakfast:2 Sausage, Egg, and Cheese McMuffins from McDonald's (sans the muffins, of course) Morning snack: a few veggies (celery and radishes) and sour cream dip and a couple of peices of l/c "fudge". Lunch: a couple of small peices of leftover chicken fried steak, and some spinach/artichoke dip Afternoon snack: more veggies and dip, more "fudge" (2) Dinner:Salad consisting of romaine lettuce, crumbled bacon, grated cheddar cheese, and a small can of chicken breast chunks, topped off with CarbOptions Ranch dressing. YUMMY!! Dessert: yet MORE fudge......it's made with butter, Splenda, cocoa, nuts and shake mix. I hope I haven't overdone the fudge. It's l/c, but you never know. If I gain again tomorrow, I'm blaming the "fudge"!

| Maxi, a Dr. Phil thread would be COOL!!! I haven't read his weight loss book, but I'm one of his HUGEST fans (besides YOU) and he still has people on his shows that are trying to lose weight. I like the Families he's working with right now, to get them all in shape. I just adore the man and the work he does. I did double tea today and double exercise and most of my water, so we'll see if it made any difference on the scale for tomorrow. My 2 lbs came back too and I just finished TOM!!!!! go figure!!! I DID have a LOT of salt yesterday. Today I had: chocolate Mock Danish and bacon for breaky Lunch was a fried egg sandwich on LC toast with mayo and alfalfa sprouts (that I have sprouted myself, a la Dr. Perricone) Quite tasty if you like alfalfa sprouts----LOVE 'EM!!!! Dinner was boiled dinner with ham, cabbage and cauliflowr Evening snack was Choc. Mock Danish with LC icecream Karen, I've been calling deviled eggs that for so long, I won't be able to call them anything else. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

| I did OK, but maybe not enough veggies. Breakfast: cheddar cheese and sliced almonds Lunch: ground beef and a tiny bit of onion (no veggies) Dinner: pork roast, a slice of onion and 1/4 head of cabbage cooked in beef broth and seasoned with a bit of bacon grease. Liquids: 4C green tea; 4.5C diet GingerAle w/bitters Calories: 1,524 net Carbs: 22 (33-11 fiber) I lazed around again today. No exercise, not even any housework. I wanted to sleep but the phone rang both times right after I climbed back in bed so I guess it wasn't to be. It's that TOM, so I think that's why I'm feeling so blah.

Today's menu: (I know I had alot of "fudge", but they are little squares, not even one inch, and I did lose today........) Breakfast:the McMuffin thing with no muffins. 2 pc. LCF (low carb fudge) A.M. snack: 10 pc. sliced pepperoni and 2 pc. LCF Lunch: the chicken and pickles off a Chick-fil-a sandwich and cole slaw, and of course, 2 pc. LCF P.M. snack: a few veggies and dip and a yogurt Dinner:salad, chicken/broccoli alfredo (no pasta.....ate half my bowl and put the other half away for lunch tomorrow.) Dessert:4 pc. LCF I'm a fudge-eating machine today! It's made with protein shake powder, Splenda, cocoa, butter, oil, and nuts. I exercised the whole time The Biggest Loset finale was on. I got all my water in, my supplements, and hopefully, I'll get to bed on time tonight!
