Default back to induction

HAPPY NEWYEAR TO YOU ALL!

I have been on a huge cheat the last month or so. Yes, I have gained, only 7lbs so I consider myself lucky as it could of been worse. This is day 5 on induction and I am starting to feel better again. The first 3 days back I had trouble sleeping, irratibility and headaches. I re-read my book on atkins and found that these symptoms are side effects from your system ridding your body of carbs. Anyway I am glad to be back and will check in more often now that the holiday season is ending. I wish you all, all the luck and happiness you deserve in 2005.

Hugs
nancy

Nancy, I'm restarting induction after a fat fast. December was hard for me. I did lose but was not in the right mind set and kept cheating on the weekends. I feared I would fall completely off the wagon so I will be right there with you reinducting. I also re-read my Atkins, he does give you new drive when you read it, huh? It's like learning everything all over again.

Glad you are back. Good luck.

Nancy, welcome back. Don't feel like the Lone Carber....alot of us had some trouble in December! But, 2004 is almost behind us and 2005 is a new beginning.

May our beloved Dr.Atkins rest in peace, secure in the knowledge that he saved many lives during HIS!

GG, some low-carb plans permit consumption of higher amounts of "free" carbs on a daily or weekly basis. ATKINS does not, at any stage.

In order to stay in the physiological condition of BTK (benign dietary ketosis) which is part of the Atkins plan, you must stay continually within your carb-restricted level. Furthermore, the only carbs allowed are healthy veggies, legal fruits, and some dairy.

The Atkins plan is about learning a healthy way of eating for life. It isn't about depriving yourself most of the time, and "cheating" at other times.

If you are NOT following the Atkins plan, please post your comments in the appropriate forum for whatever plan you are using.

GG, are you doing the "off-plan" day while still on induction? If so, how's that working for you? How much weight have you lost so far? If it's working, I suppose you could call this a "modified Atkins plan", but STRICT induction doesn't allow for ANY off days until it's over. The goal for induction is to reach ketosis. But if it's working........I don't see the harm. And if it doesn't trigger intense cravings for you, so much the better. You sound like you are on a good exercise regimen too. I'm close to maintenance now, so I will do an "off-plan" (modified) some days, but only on days I know I am going be exercising. While I was on induction, I followed the plan to the letter.

I guess, the main question is..........are you still trying to do INDUCTION or are you maybe ready to move onto OWL???
