| Why didn't I remember this? After only a week on induction (re-induction), I can definitely feel the difference in my body--and in my favorite pants. I just feel...leaner. I believe that's how it feels getting rid of carb bloat, the extra water that inflates the blubber and makes moving around more effortful, not to mention making the clothes tighter. When I was low-carbing consistently, I forgot what a difference that makes. Now I know. Note to self: don't forget again!! |

| Wow, Rob . . . you are almost breaking into the 100's! That's so great! I am working on salt bloat. I rarely salt my foods, so there must be salt in foods that I am not aware of. (My old English teacher would kill me over that last sentence!)

| I'm quite sure the 2 pounds that found me this morning were from excess sodium. I was down 2 on Sunday, and they found me today! And as Rob has pointed out before, we don't gain 2 pounds of actual fat in a 24-hour period. When I was (struggling) to give birth to DD, I had an I.V. drip the whole time. I was soooo bloated in all the pix! I only gained 21 lbs. during the pregnancy, and DD weighed almost 9! Anyway, I peed what seemed like GALLONS in the days following her birth....I just know it was from all the fluids "pushed" during my labor and delivery. I was only down 11 pounds after she was born, so I know I got some extra pounds from SOMEWHERE! Isn't it amazing how much fluid our "blubber" as Barb calls it can retain?!

| I get the bloat, too. Too many carbs in one day does it. Like a balloon. It might be more disturbing for us men than for the ladies. You ladies are used to hormonal changes and water retention. For us men, it's a little unsettling. For me, anyway. It's one aspect of this lifestyle that I don't particularly like.
