I met my goal and took it easy for a while...thing is...I learned what worked for me and just kinda went on to other things. What made it hard to come back was when the website changed!! I had forgotten the url (could have SWORN it was lowcarbeating.com) but it looked different and I couldn't login!!

Now I come back every once in a while to see reviews on the latest low carb foods etc etc.

Wow its so weird to come back and see this thread after i just took a week off just to get my head together. thinking to myself an entire year of focusing on eating and drinking and exercising. going from health not being a second thought to health consuming most of my thoughts. so i thought i should take a week reflect, regather, and work on improvements because i never ever want to get as laxed as i was with my weight , eating and health.

but im back, just took a week off, lol. well if anyone missed me anyway, lol.

Ok, I admit it, Im one of the ones you are talking about. I was doing great, I got down to 138. Then one night my so and I got into a fight over dinner. It is sooo hard to cook for him. He doesnt like chicken AT ALL. He likes things fried in flour and cooked in soups etc. All high Carb foods. During our argument he said he shouldnt have to suffer because I gained 50 lbs since we got together (i had a child during this time). I got tired of stressing over what to cook, so I started making lasagna etc. Well here I am ready to get back on. Im back up to 145 which isnt bad considering I have been eating whatever whenever since mid October. Hopefully I can find new recipes my so may enjoy. Back to induction! Wish me luck, Im glad to be back!

awwwwwwwwwwww aint it cool to see so many people come in and give us a shout! thats awesome....
i think sometimes people might think that there really isnt any reason to stop by and say hello... might just lurk and see whats goin on...
well it is great for us to see yall... and interesting to hear what youve been up to..
heck...its even nice to see that if someone goes of the LCing.. that they still come in and say hi... maybe tell us what their pitfalls were..or what worked for them..or if .. HECK I AM SICK OFIT is happening.. i can sometimes go back in journals and see the trend of what happened BEFORE they disappeared..
many times i see the "DOING SO WELL..I am going to eat such and such because i can get right back on plan....." then POOF gone!
makes me jjjjjjjjjuuuuuuuuuuuust a little more aware of those tendencies to feel like it is EASY to get back into LCing after a splurge... but many times it is HARDER according to people than INDUCTION was...
and i like hearing THOSE stories related too.
all the information and insight i can get helps..
i appreciate all your honesty gang... much appreciated!

This morning I pigged out on a Mexican Chiapas home-roasted coffee. Mmmmmmm... It was cheap but it was very, very good; kind of surprised me. One pot for me, one for my brother. I'm avoiding the TV this dark day, so I may have a couple more pots!

Another nonentity chiming in. . .
I know I've been naughty, lurking and not posting, but it's that time of year. Not only do I suffer from SAD, but I work in retail, so the last two months have been nothing but sleep & work. And I'm in a place where I feel like I just don't have anything useful to say. Not even anything funny or snarky to say, and I tend to be VERY good at snarky.
So, what's happening now that I've gotten clear of holiday season at the mall, is DH started low carbing, won't read the book, and yells at me when he doesn't lose weight. Like I have all the answers.
I've learned to crochet and bought a sewing machine with my Christmas money. That is going to be a hoot! I'll be the best dressed Elvish princess on Halloween this year!
My grand total weight loss now is at 90 pounds. Evidently having someone you care about deployed to Iraq is an excellent stall-breaker. And in reality, I was done losing weight. If this keeps up there will be nothing left of me when he comes back in 18 months.
I know this whole post has been a load of poor-me, but when I read the title I realized how long it's been since I posted, and I really miss the interaction with you all. Sometimes there are things you need to just babble about for a minute or two, and you guys have been backing me up for so long it feels OK to come in and let loose.

Thanks for being there, everyone!

Talking Re: thoughts of missing former members

Hey Everybody!:silly:

I still lurk and speed read some posts from time to time. My work schedule has changed some (more responsibilities...less time....no extra money...). So I have not posted in ages.

My wife switched to low fat (after she hit a plateau LCing) so I tried that with her (gained 23 lbs in 4 months..whooohooo!). So we are both back to LCing again (down 13 lbs since Jan 1). This time I think she is going to stick through the stalls because I think I have finally proven to her its the only way of life that works for us. (She is down 10 lbs from Jan 1).

I'm glad to see alot of new faces here and to see that the "way of life" is still going strong (contrary to the press...).

FYI - We Tivo the "Low Carb and Loving It" show (George Stella) every Sat and get great ideas and inspiration from it (great recipes on the Food Network site).

PS - Ignore my signature...haven't got around to updating my stats yet (been too bummed with the weight gain).

Rob-

You are one of my inspirations!

I have been watching your weight via your signature over the many many months and I am speechless!!

I give my wife monthly updates on your progess when I check in from time to time. And your advice to me and others has always been top-notch.

PS - I don't want to short change anybody else's progress or advice cause everybody here is great!!!..I just kinda focused on Rob's progress over the years. ..
