Default Family following in my footsteps

Well, after I did Atkins for almost 2 years (a year off in between) and had success with my weight loss...some of my family decided to jump on the bandwagon...being that they were diagnosed with high blood sugar. It's as if they know what worked for me will work for them...and I know it will as long as they recognize it as a lifestyle change and not a 'diet'.

And then the day after Christmas, I went full fledged moderate carb vegetarian. My family heard of this...and now both my siblings are preparing themselves to become full-fledged vegetarian. They say they will be there in a month or two. And my mom just e mailed me and told me she went vegetarian...

Wow...my family following in my footsteps. It's just amazing how one lifestyle change affects those around us...

My dad is the only one who hasn't followed in my footsteps, but I don't mind. To each his own.

And as soon as my dh discovered Boca burgers...well, let's just say he's almost vegetarian! (when I told him what I was doing, he said 'I'll be 90% but I still want meat every once in awhile)...well, looks like he does have his meat every once in awhile...just meatless...

Heh, I had a pleasant surprise at the family Christmas gathering. It used to be, for years, that my father (now deceased) and I were the only fat ones in the family. Now my mother and I are the only non-fat ones. (snicker). They wanted to know about low-carbing. I told them to read the book.
