Suenos, I'd say 74% isn't too high, especially if you're happy with your progress. Mine used to go as high as 80%. These days, it's more in the 65% range, according to FitDay.

I'm pretty close to goal, so I keep an eye on calories as well as carbs. I try to limit fat to stuff I like--such as salad dressing, cream cheese, bacon from time to time. I don't worry about the fat in whatever red meats I happen to eat, but I don't eat much cheese.

I know that 75% fat looks a little shocking. But you might want to reread the sections of DANDR, or other Atkins resources, that relate to this subject.

I have had it as high as 85% and as low as about 60%--I am a year in and it ranges still but most days it is around 75% of my total...Protein is aobut 20% and carbs 5-15% depends on the day! I would say you are right on where you need to be.

I notice the lower I keep my carbs and calories the higher the fat percentage.
Don't worry about it unless it bothers you physically. Once you have upped your carbs you can more easily control the fat content but as long as you stick with this woe it won't go lower (much) than 50 %. This will most likely change when you go into the maintenance phase.

Since the beginning of the year, my fat has ranged from 58 to 74 percent of my calories with the majority being in the 60s.

I'm up in the 65-75% range most of the time. Like Teel, the biggest volume of my food is veggies, but I don't stint on the stuff that makes it all taste so good!
