| He can go without breakfast and lunch with no problem and then eat heavier in the later afternoons...with no adverse effects. He can also just walk if he really wants to lose weight...and he decreases his time if he just wants to maintain...and he sure eats up those bananas and peanut butter with no problem! (what a dream!!) Well, I do have one once in awhile...he works out in the afternoons... Me...I eat every 2 to 3 hours...and when it comes to exercise, I am usually running 4 miles a day to maintain my weight...and I know if I wanted to lose, I'd have to really increase the mileage and the running time (but I haven't gotten that ambitious yet) I do my runs in the morning... We experimented a little last week...he tried exercising in the mornings and eating the way I do. It just didn't work for him. I tried eating the way he does (but I was also more carb conscious during that time) meaning I wasn't eating in the mornings nor at lunch...just in the later afternoons... and slowing down my exercise to just walking or slow jogging...and it just didn't work for me. It's amazing how what works for one person will not work the same way for another person. Sheyla |

| That has always amazed me . . . how this is such a YMMV thing. Since I started last July, this WOE has been such a revelation. Of course, the biggest revelation is that I need to exercise. Duh. But I still rationalize that part of it. I HAVE to investigate why I am so resistant to it. I know part of the problem is because it hurts . . . arthritis and a tempermental back. Sheyla, running 4 miles/day sure has my admiration! You are doing so well!

| I know what you mean - each of us is so individual in our metabolism and mindsets! And, as we go through life both of those things can change drastically - so we need to be open to changing our habits to match. MY DH also skips bkfst and lunch, much to my dismay. He keeps hunger at bay with black coffee. A highly respected physcian told me that there is a correlation between such meal skipping and strokes. As DH gets older, I'm more concerned than ever. But, he's stubborn, he is, so I know that pressuring him is never going to work. When I made his lunch bags, I learned that he stuck them in the refrigerator at work and never ate them. For a while, I thought I had a solution in that I bought him cartons of granola bars (which he says he likes) and put them in his car - thinking he'd eat them on his way to work. Weeks later, I'd find 2 or three boxes of granola bars stuffed away out of sight in the back seat. Sigh... at least on the weekends, he'll go for a latte in the morning.
