ok. hubby wanted sandwich and pulled up to Subway. Walked in and they had all these salad pictures hanging from the ceiling. Grilled chicken and baby spinach and Atkins dressing. Salad looked great with low carb toppings and dressing.
So I asked for it. After the guy put a small handful of baby spinach and nuked a few strips of chicken - he asks me what I want on it. I said I wanted it like the picture, Had almond slivers and lots of stuff. He says they discontinued it and didn't have the ingredients. I said what about the Atkins Honey mustard - he says they have regular honey mustard. IDIOT!!! he did finally go back and ask the manager and they had some of the Atkins stuff stashed under the counter (warm).
So, if they friggin discontinued it, why did I end up paying the full price for a half-a$$ salad??? And yeah, I took it, came home and built it up some.
And went to subway.com and put in a complaint.

But if these places are discontinuing the Atkins offerings - I WISH THEY WOULD TAKE THE ADVERTISING DOWN!!!

I've heard a bunch of people say Subway isn't very LC friendly any more.
I like Quiznos. They have great salads and they will put any sub on their LC flat bread.

I am not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing.

I've been to two local Subways for salads. I've never been offered Atkins dressing...didn't even know it was supposed to come with it. I usually get the Kraft regular ranch. I know they also have a low-fat or non-fat ranch and a honey mustard. I'm sure they can also pour on the oil and vinegar they use on the sandwiches.
When I go, I usually ask for the chicken and baby spinach salad...then they ask what I want on it. I get regular lettuce, bell pepper, olives, red onion, pepperocinis, pickles and tomatoes all for the price of the basic chicken and spinach salad. I don't know if cheese would be considered an "extra" or not.

Last week, I went to Quiznos for the first time. I ordered a black and bleu salad. It was pretty good. I'll go back again when I'm on that side of town.

I tried the Atkins baby spinach salad at Subway (in my area they still serve them) and it wasn't worth the money I paid for it.The original recipe includes spinach, onion (which I didn't get because of high carb count), shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, about 1/2 chicken breast, and atkins dressing with 2 net carbs. As you can tell, there is not a lot of variety in the salad and it seems empty. I asked for cucambers instead of onions and substituted oil/vinegar instead of dressing. It was close to $5. I was still hungry when I finished it and I did not enjoy it at all!

I know the Subway's here were discontinuing the Atkins line and someone asked about that at the Atkins website. And the Atkins website stated that their license agreement with Subway was being terminated in January...perhaps that's the reason for them not having all that stuff anymore.

The first time I order the baby spinach salad (a few months ago) they made it right up and asked which dressing I wanted..no problems....

I order one last Friday from a different Subway.. the girl started it and then handed it to the guy next to her to finish... He immediately took "half" the spinach out and started adding normal iceberg lettuce... I asked him what he was doing and he mumbled something that I think was "...the salad is being discontinued..." So I pointed at the sign and asked "Well, why do you still have it on your menu and still have the baby spinach and such?". He mumbled something incoherent so I asked for the manager. I was told that the manager was "out to lunch...".

Frustrated... I just left...(saying a few nasty words on my way out the door...)

Potbelly Sandwich Works offers sandwiches on white or wheat, regular or "skinny" (1/3 less bread). I don't know what the carb count is, though.

I never liked subway anyway, it's overrated and overpriced!!!

People who tried the LC wraps said they were not good at all.

I prefer McDonalds California cobb or bacon ranch salads, I just pick out the carrots and don't use or use very little of their dressing. Cheaper and much tastier than subway.

i like the McDONALD salads also.. matterfact i tend to actualy get a bunch of the side salads sometimes even if i know im not eating them.. if im just picking something up for the kids..heck i had 1/2 a side salad w/ leftover chilli for breakfest (yes breakfest) today. was yummy. and handy and i love the containers... ohh well.. i have only ever ate at quizno' 1 time.. befor LC and to spend 13 dollars on a 6 inch sandwich drink and a bag of chips i thought was WAAAY TO MUCH.. so i havent gone back.. im not much of an order salad out type of person.. if i want that i go to a "salad bar" where i live we have an Eat N Park (mostly north east ect) they make this yummy portabelo salad mmm.. only salad i order at a resturant asides from side salads..

I have a Quizno's near my office - and I absolutely love the mesquite flat bread sandwich. It is unbelievably awesome. And only 9 carbs or so. Great when I haven't had time to pack a lunch in the morning.

Subway hasn't ever been a favorite of mine - l/c or not.

I don't understand why stores do that they have a good looking diet thing or whatever and then they don't have it it seems like they are just trying to get you to come in and give them your money

I love subway, I used to eat there a lot. But now I eat at McDonalds, it's fast and good. I usually get a fruit and yogurt parfeit with a chicken salad. That always get me stuffed yet I'm still eating a good meal.
