I'm always telling people around here to "be patient." I confess that's often self-talk, since I'm as disheartened as anybody when I've done the program exactly right, and still the needle sticks..and sticks...and sticks.

So--finally, I got my "whoosh." Three more pounds gone--and that's a phenomenal drop, so close to my target weight. I am now at my historic "set point." I could be happy here for life, but--well, why not go for the ideal, as Dr. Atkins says in his book?

Congratulations Barb! I'm at the point in my weight loss where I don't expect a weight loss every week even when I've been good all week. You're so close to goal that 3 pounds is phenomenal.

You Go Girl!!!!!

Congrats Barb on your loss. 3lbs is a good woosh. I wish the scales would me for me, but I have been having a hard time getting back into it since Christmas. The last week I have been very back on track with exercise and diet, and I have finally learned how to use Fitday which has been a great help. Keep up the good work

Hugs
Nancy

The only way my scale is going to drop is if I toss it out the second story window...nice long drop to the concrete below!!!

Uh-Lori......does that mean you didn't see 159 today? You will this week, I'm sure. hang in there.

Barb-good for you. I'd probably faint if I was to see a 3 pound drop at a weigh-in!

Congratulations. A 3-pound whoosh is totally awesome.

And yes, it is discouraging to see the scale stick I did that for several weeks...and then I gained. (probably from too much low-carb foods) But I'm not going to freak about it. I know it will come off if I stick to plan and up my exercise a bit.

Congratulations, Barb! Three pounds is a fabulous Whoosh! You must be walking on air now.

I have been stuck in a 130-132 range for about 5 weeks, but I am close to goal and expect my loss to slow down a lot now. I keep telling myself it's not a race! But I also just got back from a week's vacation and did not gain. That in itself is a victory and also a testament to the ease of a low carb way of eating!

HI, KC. Yep, holding to a low-carb lifestyle is a little tougher on vacation. Our month at the beach has been a stumbling block for me year after year. But not as much as it used to be, when I ate my way through a truckload of potato chips, etc.

I'm sure my tissues suck up a lot of water, so my weight fluctuates quite a bit from day to day. That's why I mostly stay off the scale, and try to keep the big picture in mind. I can feel the difference in my body without measuring anything!

It's funny, Barb, but even though I am the same weight today as I was when I left for vacation, I FEEL thinner. Maybe it was all the walking on the beach!
