Default HELP!! (starting over kinda...)

How do I 'start over' when I haven't been good as I should have been? Do I go back to reinduction? Can I eat a 5 carb bag of peanuts a day to up my calories and carbs to 25 and start out at 25 grams a day? Or do I need to go down to 20? Help! Thanks

Hey, you! Welcome back!
You can certainly give the 25 carb regime a trial and see how it works for you - it may just do the trick! If, after a week or so, you aren't where you want to be on the track, you can try a week or two of induction-style eating (e.g., 20 carbs, no nuts).

That's kind of the way it's going for me. My week of "cutting back" didn't cut it for me, so I decided to follow Atkins induction rules. I'm just starting my second week, and it has indeed helped with food cravings - just like the book says. For now, instead of nuts (which I ADORE), I'm snacking on dry roasted soynuts (Whole Foods sells them in the bulk foods section - either salted or unsalted - for $2.79, which is pretty cheap). They aren't tasty as regular nuts, but they aren't awful and they do have a pleasing crunch! A 22 gram serving is -.3 g. net carbs according to the nutrition data from the bin (yes, apparently negative net carbs). The Atkins website says they are okay for induction, and they have not knocked me out of ketosis.

I don't think induction is necessary, unless you are trying to knock out any carb cravings.

I went off plan, big time, for one meal about a week ago. I didn't go back to induction, but I did cut a few things out of my menu that will be slowly be added back in. I've been on a long stall and I'm trying to figure out what--if anything--kept me from losing weight.

I've gave up soda pop for lent. That didn't seem to help, but I'm still not going to drink any until the day after Easter.

I'm not adding Atkins shakes back into my menu for at least another week or two. My body needs to start losing again before I add something back in.

I ate a tablespoon of peanut butter yesterday, but have since thought that I won't use any nuts for a few weeks.

Peanut butter is evil and I try to leave that alone. I'll buy a jar and then eat the whole jar (not at one sitting thank god!) and not buy it for months. I could probably eat a whole jar if I let myself!! ESPECIALLY now that I've found the natural kind that is SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than regular peanut butter!! But you have to be over sugar to eat it or it's just plain gross!

I'll see what the 25 is going to do for the next week, along with the coco oil. Hopefully someone will tell me if I'm doing it right or I'll just have to pm one of the gurus!

Hey Lady! Good to see you again!

I hear ya about the peanut butter! I could EASILY work through a jar on my own! My sister sent me a few of the carb options PB but I haven't opened them yet.

Go as low as you feel is necessary to start losing again. If you are fine with nuts, then go ahead. If they are holding you back, I'd cut them out for a while.
