| I can't believe I'm up two lbs today. I'm not overly concerned, I'm sure it is all water weight, but it is 2 lbs in the wrong direction! I did everything right yesterday. Drank my water, took a vitamin, exercised for over 90 minutes (including two work out tapes and 1.55miles on my treadmill) yet I am up 2lbs today...go figure...oh I was also very very very good on the diet NO CHEATS. I'm back to my original weight.

| Hang in there, shygirl! There are many, many things that can cause a 2 lb weight gain, some of which are: elimination status, salt intake, exercise ("pump you up" has meaning), hormone status (where in your cycle may be), etc. As long as you can deal with daily fluctuations of a couple of pounds, there's nothing wrong with weighing each day. Some people find it more comfortable to weigh once each week, at the same time of day, wearing the same clothing (or lack thereof, LOL!)

| Hi Maggie, I'm not upset about the weight gain...I did start exercising yesterday (over 90 minutes, I did 2 CORE SECRETS tapes and 1.55miles on my treadmill) maybe I'm just 'pumped up' lol. Is there a website you know of that will explain this in detail for me? How long do I stay 'pumped up' (I love that!)

| Lots of things can cause a fluctuation of a couple of pounds...as long as the trend is down over the week be happy with it. I quit weighing every day because I wanted to see the trend not so much the day to day stuff...I can be up 10 one day and down 3 two days later...who knows what the up 10 was but it happeds so frequently with me that I stopped weighing every day and only Sunday morning do I assess the damages for the week! Keep doing what you are doing and over hte long run you will see maonmr progress and changes happening! Exercise can give you up to 12 hours of "up" time...also konw that as you do work out over the next few weeks that you may actually show a gain as you build muscle...muscle takes up less space but weighs more than fat. Thing tangerines to grapefruits...5lbs of fat looks like 3 large grapefruits and 5 lbs of muscle looks like 3 tangerines...so while you may weigh a bit more you take up less space and that space is what everyone notices...not the number ont he scale!

| I, too, was one who would weigh daily..... talk about fluctuations.... even if I would weigh same time each morning.... I could go up a couple of pounds easily and for no known reason to me.... And, if you are not prepared for it....... it is very discouraging.... especially, when you've done everything right. When I began exercising, I noticed no weight loss for a couple of weeks, but my clothes certainly were getting too large. Now, I just weigh once per week.... That's it.... put the scale in the bathroom closet until my weigh-in so I will not be tempted. I would encourage you to keep doing the things you have been..... eating right..... exercising..... and soon, you will find the scale moving in the right direction for you! |

| I am in the minority in that I weigh everyday. Every morning before I take a shower. I don't freak out if I'm up a couple pounds. Your body can fluctuate 5 pounds a day - or so I've read. If I know I've been cheating - it calls me on the carpet about it. If not, then I chalk it up to something else I don't understand and don't freak out. I didn't get here overnight - I won't get to my goal overnight. Stay the path....don't get extremely anal about it....but pay attention to your daily choices. |

| Rhalvahn, I weigh every day, too. Like you, right before I shower, first thing in the morning. This way, I get a somewhat consistent idea of where I'm at. Some reasons I can gain 2 pounds in one day: Being "pumped up" TOM on the way Too much salt Not enough water Something had sugar in it and I didn't know. Carb creep Cheats Not enough sleep A Krispy Kreme jumped up and crawled down my throat. So, I've learned not to get too upset. Like Lori said....as long as you are seeing a consistent downward trend, you're doing okay.

| What great responses! Thanks guys. I'm down 6lbs today. I'm in an outfit that I have not worn for months...that really feels good. I will keep on track and hopefully I will see the downward spiral...I weigh myself every day, mostly because it is the only way for me to figure out if I've done something wrong the day before. I have been sticking to the same diet plan for the last two weeks (adding something new every day) that way if I gain I know that particular thing does not agree with this way of eating. But I see the scale going down...thanks for the support!
