Default Hair raising tale.

I noticed this back around the holidays but did not bring it up. I've been LC for 8 months now. Normaly at this time of the year my hair is very dry. But this winter it's soft and fuller (it just feel really nice). I've used T-gel shampoo for years and I don't use conditioner. So I'm guessing it's the diet that is making the change or maybe it could be the water. I moved into this house last Febuary.

Has anyone else notice their hair get softer?

If you like the change, that's great. A diet high in protein and healthy oils would seem to have a good effect on replenishing tissue, like hair and skin.

Oh I like it, I'm a guy who does not mess with his hair much. I just don't remember reading anything in the Atkins book about it.

Talking Re: Hair raising tale.

I tell ya, when I am on plan and eating clean, it is AMAZING how clear my skin gets!!! And I noticed my hair (which has always been thin, fine, and limp - a veritable oil sponge) is fuller and just, ...well, just prettier!!!

Yup. I think the good hydration and healthy fat & protein intake has a lot to do with the hair/nails/skin improvement that most of us see.

Nice "side effect", no?

I remember a post quite a while back where someone invited the members to feel their elbows. Sure enough everyone responded that they had never had softer elbows in their lives and in fact most people used to have rough scratchy ones.

I never checked my elbows Rob, they look fresh LOL. No dry skin at all. and I agree with you Maggie this is a nice, "side effect"
I went out for a few drinks friday with a couple old co-workers I keep in touch with. They said I look much healther and look younger (less stressed out looking) My one friend said his Dr. put him on a diet to get his sugar levels down and to loose weight. I told him I cut sugar out of my daily diet and then he went on to tell me he on the South Beach and I told him I'm doing Atkins. He lost 15lbs on SB. I told him to check out this site for support.

Not only does my hair look and feel better - it grows like a bad weed!

Last time I saw my hairdresser was about 8 months ago. (I just HATE paying $35 to get a trim, but no one else does it right! ) At that time, my hair was just past shoulder length.

Well, I went again last Friday - and my hair was about mid-back. I swear it grew at least 6" in that 8 months! I knew the hairdresser would be surprised, so I wore it to the shop all up in a knot on top of my head. When he pulled it loose and it fell to the middle of my back, his mouth literally dropped open! Too funny!!

Anyway I got it cut to just shoulder length with layers. Looks good and easier to take care of too!

And yes, I DO have nice soft elbows, AND my cracked heels seem to be a thing of the past too!
