| At the moment I am taking one Sanatagen Gold a Day (multivitamin) and one chromium supplement. I also take 2 Sanatagen Fibre drinks a day. Is there anything else I should be taking? I suffer from occassional leg cramps but nothing I can't handle.

| I have found that the rule of thumb is a good multivitamin....then the rest is up to you honestly. I have fiddled with supplements over a year now.....for leg cramps I take a magnesium/calcium/iron combo.

| Thanks. I really don't know much about this. I am worried about taking too many. If I take a multi vitamin is it OK to add others such as the chromium? I am also thinking of maybe adding a calcium supplement as I have problems with my knees and want to ensure I am promoting healthy bones.

| Adding those two won't be overdoing it....I take more than that LOL If you're going to add calcium, I'd suggest the Magnesium/Calcium combo as that will help with the leg cramps you stated before...at least it did for me As for chromium, I take that as well because it helps aid in the breakdown of carbs. Trust me...hubby laughs daily while I prepare my little supplement ziploc to go to work with my lunch LOL.

| Once I increased my magnesium, the leg cramps went away. I relied on "The Book" (DANDR) for my supplements. I take: 1 multi for low carbers magnesium calcium with vita D chromium potassium Omega 3 (Fish Oil) L-Carnitine L-Glutamine CoQ10 (I think that's what it's called. Having a senior moment)

| I take a potload of supplements, with a reason for each of them. However, for most women, a multi-vitamin and calcium (with vitamin D for absorption) are the basics. Check the ingredients on your multi. Magnesium (for cramps) and potassium are two nutrients to be sure you get enough of. What is enough?? Go to Google, and you'll find guidelines here and there. I think some of the recommendations in Atkins (DANDR) are excessive, and should be used only with a doctor's supervision--as they are (were) for Dr. Atkins' patients. Fish Oil and Glucosamine/Chondroitin are my other favorites--but I'm pushing 60 and have to keep those joints lubed. |

| I take: A multivitamin (no iron) An essential oil supplement (Borage, Flaxseed and Fish oil combo)--either Atkins Essential oils or Renew Life Oil Smart glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM (for my arthur-itits!) coQ10 Atkins Accel and Dieters advantage--this is where i get my chromium, l-carnitine, green tea extract, all the stuff that's supposed to help the losing along. this plus a low dose aspirin (stroke runs in my fam) and my bc pill round out my morning handful of stuff to take. I should probably take a calcium supp as i am premenopausal and don't eat a lot of dairy, but I don't. Speaking of calcium--I notice there are several different kinds--calcium carbonate, calcium citrate...Which is best for someone trying to prevent osteoporosis etc?? I can do the research, I was just hoping someone already knew the answer

| I take a B-complex vitamin along with my birth control pill because I've read (in Mercola's website) that most women on BCP's don't get enough "B's" to process it correctly. I also take a low carber multivitamin. I feel pretty darn good most of the time and did not catch a cold at all this year. This WOE rocks!

| this is kind of a sideline, but i got earl mendell's vitamin bible, and found it tremendously helpful for choosing supps. i got it in paperback for a few dollars, and it's sort of like an encyclopedia for selecting which supps you want to take and why. it's been a huge help for me. |
