| I am going camping this weekend and need ideas for side dishes. We will BBQ dinner and the meat part is under control - but what about side dishes? I am planning to make kabobs one night and BBQ those new stuffed burgers (bleu cheese and bacon) from Trader Joes. I need ideas for a side dish for that night.... can anyone help? I am trying to avoid pork n' beans, etc and come up with something that can be made at the campsite on either the stove or BBQ... |

| Salad is a wonderful side dish. I would also recommend good ol' strawberries with cool-whip. So low cal and carb. You could put the fruit in 10 cal/carb free jello just for fun. I hope this helps some. |

| green beans, or coleslaw made with splenda, or even refried beans.

| BBQ Zuccinni on the grill. Cut the zuccinni length-wise, rub it in olive oil and just place it on the grill. A little salt and pepper and BAM! They are so good. We do this always when we are camping. |

| ... and don't stop with the zukes - sweet peppers - red & green - (cut in big pieces), portobello mushrooms, eggplants (big slices of the larger ones, or the little ones cut in half length-wise) all come to mind.

| throw some yellow squash in there too... if you dont want to put big slices on the grill... cut up some of those veggies and put em in aluminum foil with a bit of seasoning and butter... they will steam THAT way too.. |

| fresh cut vegetables and melon pieces go great with a BBQ. cut a cantaloupe and some watermelon and maybe some Honey Dew melon along with broccoli, cauliflower, cucumbers, radishes, and some baby carrots or carrot sticks and add a sour cream dip of your choosing and perfect side dish and snack foods for later too yet!
