Question couple more questions

Where do I buy soy flour???? Im out here in nowhere land and my Walmart doesnt carry it unless I missed it some how. I want more choices and a lot of the recipes call for the bake mix which they dont carry either or soy flour and wheat flour I found the flax seed but and boxes of carbsense cookie and bisquit mix but thats it.. I tried using the bisquit mix for pizza crust but that flopped major. However the topping was quite good. Just wondering what other advise there might be.

2nd mozerella sticks from like Arbys if I pick the breading off can I eat them???
I guessed no on that one but thought I would check.

Is there any websites for fast food that you can reccommend. The ones I find except a couple have the entire sandwich carbs not the breakdown of the bun etc.. Is there any salads that are not sky high in carbs at fast food restaraunts???

Thanks again for all your help and advise couldnt do it as well with out it!!!!!

Thanks,
Debra:silly:

Debra:

I'm assuming that you have access to being online, since you're posting on these boards. If you live out in the sticks and you don't have access locally to products, you can buy online. Go to a search engine, pop in the words "buy soy flour online" in quotes, and you'll get a lot of hits. I did that and got this one for soy flour.

As to your second question about cheese sticks from Arby's......I wouldn't eat them. It's been my experience that "picking off the breading" of anything doesn't quite cut it. Instead, cut some cheese cubes, put them on a plate, pop them into the microwave, and eat that. They aren't cheese sticks, but depending upon how long you nuke them, you can have a melty cheese snack, or you can have "cheese chips". The longer you nuke them, the crispier the cheese.

There are lots of sites for fast food. Here a a few:

Arby's
McDonald's
Wendy's
Subway

Each link above will take you to their nutritional information page.

Bob Evans has a Cobb Salad that isn't high in carbs. They even have a "low carb" section on their menu.

Hope this helps......

Arby's Mozzarella sticks have 470 calories and 32 net carbs per serving. But that breading is very very hard to get off. Even if you get off 2/3 of it. well you won;t know what you ate really, will you?

Here's a useful website for fast food:

food facts

Use it as little as possible!

that sounds good microwaving them didnt think of that. I didnt go get the mozerella sticks from Arbys as I guessed they were high. My brain just kept trying to trick me into it so I figured I d check.

Thanks again.

http://www.bobsredmill.com/ has soy flour and a low carb baking mix. I haven't tried either. I think my last soy flour purchase was something or another mill.. I don't remember the name.

I've used Bob's Red Mill Baking mix, but mainly as a breading or mixed with almond flour in baked goods. Recently, I used Carbquik baking mix - so far, it is awesome. I also like baking with ground flaxseed and ground nut flours. If you have a Trader Joe's somewhere in reach, they carry the almond flour and hazelnut flour - and a fair selection of LC chips and dry cereals. I think they also carry pre-ground flaxseeds, but I've found that many stores do not refrigerate it properly and it tastes off - the last 3 bags I bought from different stores were all returned or thrown out. So, I've gone back to buying the flaxseeds and grinding them myself in a coffee grinder. That stuff makes nice muffins and pancakes - especially when mixed with either Carbquik, almond flour, or whey protein powder.

If you can't find the LC products you want locally, you might consider ordering from www.netrition.com. They have a large selection of low carb goods and a flat shipping fee of about $4-5. I've never had a problem with Netrition - my orders have always been delivered very fast and accurately - which is more than I can say for any number of other online vendors.
