Thumbs up Found the culprit!

I took everyone's suggestions; added more water, toned down the protein, added more veggies, more fiber, etc. and whoosh! I'm down 4lbs!

I'm pretty sure it was the cheese. I love cheese crisps! So instead of having cheese crisps, I substitute cucumbers. They're not the same, but I like cucumbers, so it's okay.

I'm heading into TOM, so I expect water retention as usual. I read somewhere that taking extra calcium is supposed to keep water retention at a minimum during TOM. I'll give it a try and see if it helps, because I retain a lot.

Thanks everyone for the good suggestions!

Shelley

Good Detecting, Shelley! I know I can't handle a lot of cheese, either. Now if I can just stay away from the whipped cream . . . .

Not sure about extra calcium helping water retention during TOM (I'm way past that). But drinking a little extra water may not hurt. Perhaps drinking some green tea? On the Green Tea Challenge thread, if I recall correctly, some people have said their TOM "problems" are not as bad when they drink green tea.

You're doing great!

Alida, I think my PMS symptoms have GREATLY diminished since I started drinking green tea EVERY day. I am on TOM right now and have had minimal water-weight gain, no cramping, and no leg-aches. As long as I am on plan AND drink my green tea as TOM approaches, it's not big deal.

So, ShelleyLG....give it a whirl!
