I think this often happens when others see you in a way - thin! - that they will have to grow accustomed to. Let their eyes get used to it; after all, you are changing before their very eyes!

When I first got to goal in late 2001, my mom was a little concerned; now she thinks I'm just right. (Should I then be worried? LOL)

Just yesterday at the office, two people told me to STOP loosing weight that I was becoming too thin..... I thanked them for their concern and stated that I am still and have been, eating healthy. With Atkins, if you do it correctly, you do and will shed pounds (at least most people) rather drastically. I know I do not ever want to be 125 like I was in my 20's but 135-140 is a comfortable weight for me and that is where I intend to stay Also, with the amount of exercise I get, I have become more toned and compacted. While I will never have a 20 year old body again, I know I feel and look 10 years younger than I did when I began this WOL. Being overweight as you get older can certainly add the appearance of being OLDER..... IMHO.

i get the "stop losing weight" comment ALL THE TIME and it drives me bonkers... this person tells me my bones are jutting out, that person tells me to wear weights around my ankles to keep from blowing away.. but honestly, i'm still on the thicker side for my build. i'm not fat by any means, and i realize that most of the time, but like others have said, when i reach my comfort zone i'll know it and then i will stop losing. it's just that they're used to seeing me as someone twice my size. it's hard though, because even though i know they mean well, i can't help but wish they'd be a little more supportive. i have very few close friends that actually cheer my efforts on... and that's disheartening.

Someday if I ever get that comment, I think I'll just say that I'm eating healthy and I am the weight I am. That should be enough.

LOL been there, done that. I just ignore most of them, including two of my doctors.
However when I started to see my ribs in the mirror, I did get a little bit concerned and upped my low glycemic fruit intake a bit. Went from 93 lbs to just about 100, give or take a few.
Then I quit smoking. LOL. Now I need to rid myself of about 10 lbs.

I just began my journey and people are already saying don't lose too much weight, and these are overweight people saying this. So in my mind I am saying do they want me to stay at this weight so that they are comfortable. I know from first hand experience when I had friends that lost weight I was jealous because they had the strength and determination to do it. Now I have gotton my own determination and I will make it no matter what people say, I want to be healthy not skinny and that's exactly what i am going to say.

Hi All,

When thats happend to me. I have to say that inwardly i'm so proud of my achivement. However, to my accuser, I just smile and say "Thats great- That I'd like to be too rich as well"

So here's a little poem

When people say "you are too thin"
Inwardly, I have a grin
outwardly i smile and say..
I'd like to be as rich that way.

Enjoy your day

SweetE
