Default Good news on the blood test

For those of you thinking about what Atkins does to your cholesterol, here are the numbers that are making my doc very happy.

Total Cholesterol: 215 (a little higher than the <200 recommended, but wait!)
Triglycerides: 36 (recommended <150)

HDL (the "good" stuff): 111 (recommended >39)
LDL (the "bad" stuff): 96 (recommended <130)
HDL/LDL ratio: .87 (recommended <3.25)

Please note that I am a REGULAR EXERCISER--both aerobics and weight training. I believe this has a great deal to do with the heart-healthy numbers above. Atkins has been the best plan I've ever found for managing my nutrition comfortably and consistently. Combine the two, and I've found a strategy for life. BTW, I'm 58, but holding at 23 or so.

Impressive numbers, Barb! The individual good and bad numbers are awesome! I'm sure the exercise has a great deal to do with them. Reminds me that this walking is just what I need.
