| I wondered if carbquick bake mix is a good thing or a bad thing or a just once or twice a week thing. Id like to try some different things but want to be safe about it I have enough problems with other foods to risk gaining I just want to be aware before jumping into it. Also soy milk is that ok it says 1 carb ??? On the sugar free pudding mixes is says 6 carbs is that with the milk or without??? Just thought Id get on here and find out where so many people have already figured it out rather than pondering on it. Thanks again. Debra |

| Not sure about the other items but I didn't have much success using the carbquick. Tried to make pancakes out of it. There directions were unclear (even for my wife) The pancakes were just not what I had hoped for. I do like atkin pancakes. I do pancakes (with soynut butter) about once every 2 weeks. No more. Of couse I'm not on induction.

| I use Carbquik sparingly - I normally use it combined with a nut meal and/or Flaxseed meal. I think it really helps lighten those heavy nut meal cakes and muffins. I only used it "full strength" once when I made BettyR's hamburger bun. The HB bun was fine.

| I have used Bob's low carb baking mix and found it to be cheaper than Atkins and it seems to work just as well. It did not appear to have any adverse effects....

| The Carbquik is good for a lot of things. And it does make decent pancakes if you play with it. The best use for it seems to be where it will be with fruit or something else with some flavor, so you don't taste the little bit of strange Carbquik taste. It's not bad, just different. As far as weight gain--I know it doesn't affect my blood sugar levels very much. But, probably because of its fiber content, it does seem to cause a temporary water weight gain for about two days when I use it. Don't know if other people have experienced that. I do like having it around for various recipes. |

| I have found that as long as my husband and I do not "over do" it we have not seen any signs of weight plateau. We only eat a "serving size amount" and when we do use it, it's usually for pancakes in the morning. So as long as we stay under our CCLL we seem to be fine. :cook: |
